Food Trippin' at SM Megamall - Kyochon & Tim Ho Wan

Last Wednesday, we went to Makati Medical Center for Christoff's vaccination. I brought with me the Kulilits kaya full force kami.

After Makati Med, we went to SM Megamall.

First, we had our lunch at Kyochon. I guess it's new lang kasi never ko pa narinig yung name ng resto eh.

The facade...

The standee outside the resto showcasing the awards that they received...

The placemat...

We ordered their combo meal - Combo 2. It comes with 20 pieces of wings, salad, 4 rice and 4 drinks. All for P999.00.

We also ordered rice cake soup for the Kulilits sana. Pero hindi nila masyado type. I think it's expensive for its price (P70.00)...

Here is the salad...

Here are the chicken wings. We had the original and the red series...

What can I say about Kyochon?

For the food, masarap naman. I think their original chicken is better than Bon Chon. Pero for the red series, napaka-anghang! Ang plus point sa kanila is their rice.

For the price, it's kinda pricey. Parang medyo bitin kasi their food eh. Kasi if you'll see, yung inorder namin a little over one thousand na.

Then come merienda time, we went to Tim Ho Wan and checked what the fuss is all about. We went there past 3pm na kaya wala na masyadong pila.

Here is the facade (check their queuing system)...

Tim Ho Wan is from Hong Kong and they are famous because of their Michelin Star dim sum.

When we checked their menu, nakakatempt itry lahat. Pero we limited it lang to the following:

Their famous Baked Bun with BBQ Pork (3pcs)...

P 145.00

For the baked buns, one order lang per person. I don't know kung bakit pero siguro nakaka-addict kasi. Hehe. Pero I tried lang the dough (since I don't eat pork na), masarap nga. May something na kakaiba.

Spinach Dumpling with Shrimp...

P 120.00

These dumplings are so yummy. Very fresh yung shrimps niya. In fairness ha, malaki siya.

Pan Fried Carrot Cake...

P 145.00

Not unless radish and carrots are the same in terms of family.

Vermicelli Roll with Sweet and Sesame Sauce...

P 140.00

This one is basically a vermicelli wrapper with sesame sauce. Ang nagpasarap lang talaga dito is the sesame sauce.

Glutinous Rice with Lotus Leaf...

P 190.00

This is their version of machang. It's not puro rice ha, sobrang daming meat inside. May pork, chicken, sausage and mushrooms. As usual, I tried lang the rice and it is so yummy. Kahit ito lang, very filling na.

For our dessert, we had Mango Pomelo Sago...

P 90.00

This is the usual mango sago with a twist. Now lang ako nakaencounter ng mango sago with suha eh. Pero it blended well naman and it's not that sweet.

For the Tim Ho Wan, we were very satisfied with the food. Now I understand kung bakit pinipilahan siya. =)

So that's it! That's our food trippin' last Wednesday. =)

BBB Project

Remember, I have a secret project that I mentioned in my blog post here. Well, it's our BBB or Balik Bayan Box project.

Why Balik Bayan Box?

That is because we want to grant our parents' wish to receive a Balik Bayan Box from their own children.

I remembered kasi the exchange of comments of my mom and my MIL way way back. It's like my mom is making parinig to my brother, who lives in the US, that she never received a Balik Bayan Box from him. Then my MIL also commented na pareho lang daw sila ni mother kasi she never received also a Balik Bayan Box from my brother-in-law who is working in Singapore. Hehe.

So there, I mentioned to my mom na ako na lang kaya ang magpadala sa kanya ng Balik Bayan Box. She thought that I was just kidding but sinerioso ko yun. As in kinareer ko ang BBB project.

Every time we do grocery shopping, I made sure that I'll buy something also for the boxes. Hehe.

Anyway, seeing our parents' reactions when they received their balik bayan boxes is PRICELESS. Worth it lahat ng effort namin. =)

First, when I brought the box to my parents' house. It was very late in the evening na that time. My mom thought that the box came from my brother. She wouldn't believe that it came from us. Hehe!

She even posted it on Facebook...

The next delivery is to my in-laws. Hehe.

Here are the photos of my in-laws with their box via hubby's Instagram account:

Ang sarap lang ng feeling when we saw our parents very happy when we surprised them with the boxes. =)

One Weekend with Lolo Em and Lola Es

One Sunday, we had an instant meetup with my in-laws at Alabang Town Center. They brought the Kulilits este the Kulilits dragged them to the Timezone area. Hehe. They were just there the whole time playing and playing which drained the wallet of their Lolo and Lola. As what Lolo Em jokingly commented, "Ang lakas makaubos ng pera!"

Here are some of the photos that hubby took during that time:

Lola Es and Lolo Em watching the Kulilits playing the hippo thing...

Now, Lolo Em and Lola Es are playing too...

Which I think they really enjoyed...

Lolo Em Got The Kulilits Terrance Trunki Each!!!

According to Lolo Em, his Kulilits grandsons are jet-setters.

And guess what kung saan pa siya nakapunta just to purchase it? =)

So here are the Terrance Trunki of the Kulilits...

Here is what's inside the Terrance Trunki...

Nice right? A hand luggage and a ride for the tot at the same time. =)

To Lolo Em: Thank you very much for these cute Terrance Trunki! - Ian & Chris

Grandparents' Day Celebration

Last night, we had dinner at Don Henrico's Festival Mall to celebrate Grandparents' Day. Simple celebration lang with my in-laws and parents.

Hehe. Kaya ayan, medyo magdidildil kami sa pizza and buffalo wings ng ilang araw. Hehehe.

Ang mga Kulilits, they made greeting cards for their lolos and lolas. While Kuya Bimbo and Ai's panganay, Rico the poodle, gave their lolos and lolas Tous Les Jours cakes. =)

Hehe.

Yun lang po ang kuwento...

How about you guys, how did you celebrate Grandparents' Day?

Pasalubong From HK

The cutie ref magnet and Dragon Beard candy are from Chezca and Doms...

Super thank you to the sweet couple for buying my request (ref magnet). Super engs ko lang kasi talaga because I forgot to buy one when we were there. Mwah! Mwah to the both of you!!!

While the following are from my MIL and FIL:

Wafer sticks for the kulilits...

Pop beans and caramel pudding for me and Doc Padu...

Thank you Mama Es and Daddy Melvin for remembering us. =)

Hold-Up Lolo Em!!!

Hindi pa pala tapos ang kwento ko...

After we watched a movie at SM Southmall, niyaya kami ng FIL ko to have a snack at Hoagies. While eating there, may batang naglalaro na nakamask ng Iron Man. Aliw na aliw ang mga Kulilits. Panay turo sa bata sabay sabing "Iron Man! Iron Man!"

When it is time for us to go na, ayaw umalis ng mga Kulilits. They want to watch the kid in mask daw. Kaya ayun, sabi ni Lolo Em, he'll buy the Kulilits an Iron Man mask each daw.

So there we went to Toy Kingdom and looked for an Iron Man mask. Hala! Ang mahal pala ng mask na yun. It's around P2k plus each.

We looked na lang for an Iron Man action figure kaso lang out of stock.

Pero, as usual, since bata sila, ang sagot: "No! It's mine!"

Here are the Kulilits showcasing their toys:

3D Movie Date with Lolo Em and Lola Es

My MIL called me up this morning and asked me if the Kulilits want to watch Despicable Me 2. Sakto naman because the twins are bugging me to watch it every time they see pictures of minions and I told that to my MIL. Kaya ayun, she told me that they will pick us up in the afternoon so we could watch it at SM Southmall.

Afternoon came, eggzoited ang kambalistik kaya nagbihis kaagad sila ng kanilang Superman attire. At a little past 4:00pm my FIL picked us up.

When we went to Southmall, cinema 1 na lang available ang Despicable Me 2. 3D siya so mas expensive. No choice kami, kaya we watched there na rin.

First time ng mga Kulilits mag-watch ng 3D. Ang winoworry namin is baka tanggalin ang 3D glasses. Well, hindi kami nagkamali. Tinanggal nga! Pero buti na lang si Ian hindi masyado kasi movie addict yung batang yun eh as compared to Chris.

After the movie, picture picture muna ang mga Kulilits with their Lolo Em and Lola Es...

Easter Treats for the Kulilits

The kulilits are spoiled. Unang mga apo and pamangkin kasi eh kaya ganun. Nakakatawa nga eh kasi if they want something, hindi sila sa amin ng daddy nila lumalapit or nagpapaawa effect.

Yesterday afternoon, we went to Festival Mall with my in-laws to stroll around. Nakakita ng carousel ang dalawa. Ride daw sila.

Then nagawi kami sa Kid Sports. Binilan sila nila Tito Ninong Francis and Tita Ninang Ai ng new balls.

Their Lola Es also bought them new walking shoes there.  Ang cute ano? Cute din ang presyo niya. Hahaha!

Beside Kid Sports is Mindwerks.

Birthday Celebration of Lola Es

This is a super duper late post already. Pero better late than never di ba? Hehehe.

Last October 10, we celebrated my MIL's birthday at City Buffet Restaurant located at Robinson's Galleria. Ang layo ano? We checked-in kasi at EDSA Shangri-La Hotel since hubby is going to attend a product launch of a certain pharmaceutical company that day. Since we are there, my FIL asked me to search for a buffet restaurant within the area.

I asked for the help of Mr. Google that's why I discovered City Buffet. What made me choose City Buffet?

  • It is located at Robinson's Galleria which is very near EDSA Shangri-La Hotel
  • It has great food variety
  • It is cheap: Monday to Saturday Lunch - P449.00; Monday to Saturday Dinner - P499; Sunday & Holiday - P599.00 (inclusive of refillable drinks already)
  • I read somewhere that  it is a sister company of Yakimix and Buffet 101

So there we went at around 7:00pm. We did not have a hard time looking for the place since the restaurant is very big. When we had our seats already, attack kaagad kami sa buffet table. Hehehe. Here are some of our plates...

This is their soup.

Assorted sushi and sashimi. Dito lang solve na eh!

Grilled fish and seafood.

Some of their desserts.

Actually, marami silang food but I didn't manage na to take pictures of them. Yung sa desserts, may ice cream, halo halo and some pastries pa.

Overall, from 1 to 10, 10 being the highest, I rate City buffet 8. You could not expect too much naman for a P499.00 buffet right?

Going back to my MIL's birthday celebration, we had so much fun that night. My MIL seemed very happy...

May mga kilig moments din...

Oh di ba? Parang Richard and Dawn lang ang dating? Hahaha.

And the best part of it is that we are complete (except for JC who works in Singapore)...

After dinner, we all went back to EDSA Shangri-La Hotel and had some coffee. Hahaha... Tapos kulitan galore na!

Super saya that night.

The following day, nagbonding ang mga kulilits and ang kanilang Lolo Em...

After we checked-out from the hotel, we headed back home already. =)
