Food Trip: Dim Sum & Noodles All You Can at Lo Kim Fong Tea House

Guess where we had our dinner last night?

We had our dinner at a small tea house along Carnival Park St. inside our village (BF Resort Village). Wala lang, we saw kasi last week that they have a Dim Sum & Noodles All You Can promo. Since hubby and I both love dim sum and noodles, we agreed that we are going to try it over the weekend.

The name of the restaurant is Lo Kim Fong Tea House. The look of the resto is kinda like a typical Chinese Restaurant that you can find at Binondo. Nothing fancy actually.

Their Dim Sum & Noodles All You Can promo costs only P175.00 per head. Not bad di ba?

Here are the assorted dim sum...

They have pork, shrimp, dry shrimp, crab, gabi, glutinous rice, hotdog, sharksfin, chicken feet, etc. You just choose the dimsum of your choice and ask them to steam it for you.

Their noodles (pasensya na for the shot since it was already near closing time when I took this)...

For the noodles, they have two choices. Carrot noodles and regular noodles.

Among the choices are chicken, pork, beef, pork asado, liver, squid balls, wanton, fried wanton, tokwa and assorted veggies.

Here is my chicken noodle soup...

This noodle soup is very delicious. Ang sarap ng broth niya! Super malasa! Yun lang, hindi ko alam kung anong klaseng broth siya. Pero di ko na itinanong baka kasi di ako makakain. Hehehe! And the noodles, ang sarap din! It's firm and hindi siya ordinary mami noodles. Sobrang filling niya. for hubby naman, hindi ko na nakunan yung kanya, pero lahat ng sahog nasa noodle soup niya. Hehehe!

Of course, my payborit chicken feet...

For this one, hindi ako masyadong satisfied. Tastewise, masarap naman siya. Pero yung texture, parang medyo overcooked.

 I was only able to eat the glutinous rice dim sum since everything is pork based. Seeing the picture, dito ma-a-apply yung kasabihan na "don't judge the book by its cover". It actually doesn't look appetizing, pero sa totoong buhay masarap siya. Go ask hubby and Christoff! Hehe!

Overall, we are satisfied with our dinner last night. Solve na solve and sulit na sulit yung P175.00. Umuwi kaming bondat ni hubby. I never thought that noodles are heavy pala. Normally kasi kapag noodles, parang hindi ako nabubusog. Eh kagabi, halos sumuko na ako sa 2nd bowl ko. Hehe! The only thing na pinagsisihan ko is that we ordered refillable iced tea. It costs P75.00 per order. Ok lang sana eh kung tama yung timpla kaso lang masyadong diluted. Next time, hindi na lang kami oorder ng drinks. Hehe!

If you ask me if we are going to go back there, we'll probably go back. We saw din kasi yung mga a la carte order ng mga katabi namin, mukhang masarap at nakakatempt. Aside from that, mukhang puntahan din siya ng tao dahil marami ring nagtatake out.

Before I forget, their promo nga pala is every weekend lang. Meaning Friday, Saturday and Sunday only. Then yung time is from 11:00am to 2:00pm and 5:00pm to 9:00pm only.

There you go guys!

* Half Max's Fried Chicken - It's from an Eastwest Bank credit card promo. I exchanged a P4,000.00 worth of Eastwest Bank credit card transaction for a half chicken.

* 2 bottles of 1.5L of Coke - These are from Shell's promo. For every P2,000.00 single or accumulated purchase of Fuelsave fuel or P1,500.00 single or accumulated purchase of V Power Nitro, you got to take home 1 bottle of 1.5L Coke.

* Coffee Maker, Slow Cooker and the rest - Halo halo na ito. I combined the GCs I got from HSBC and hubby's token from a post marketing survey plus my points in my BDO rewards card.


Ang saya saya di ba? Ang sarap lang gumastos ng walang nilalabas na pera eh. Yung mga promo promo na ganyan, lagi kaming updated ni hubby. As in career kung career yan. Sayang kasi eh kung hindi i-aavail di ba?

Like yung sa mga credit card promos, if ever may schedule na big purchase, grocery shopping or mag gas up kami, research muna kami sa internet kung may available na promo yung credit card namin. So by the time na magbabayad na kami, alam na namin kung anong card ang gagamitin namin and kung how much ang ipapa-swipe namin for each card.

Then yung ibang promo, masid masid lang habang nasa biyahe or naglalakad. Kailangan mabilis lang ang mata para updated. Hehe.

Then yung mga BDO Rewards or other loyalty card. It helps din talaga kasi you earn points while spending. Then by the time na ayaw mo maglabas ng cash, may pondo ka.

Sa credit card points naman, dapat aware tayo. Yung iba kasi hindi pinapansin yung mga points na na-e-earn nila tapos na-eexpire lang without them exchanging it for something. Sa amin, ang gawa ko, I monitor it. Madalas we exchange it for GCs kapag malapit na ang pasko. Dagdag budget din kasi yan. =)

O di ba? Career lang talaga? Hehe. =)

The Big Sale at SM Southmall

My initial plan talaga is to go to SM Southmall on its first day of sale which is today, August 30, at 10:00am sharp. Additional 10% discount kasi sa mga SM Advantage cardholders sa first 2 hours ng sale eh. Buti na lang at kagabi pa lang, si Mama G ay nagwindow shop na para alam na niya kung ano ano ang bibilhin niya for the sale. At dahil diyan, nalaman niya na may special priviledges ang SM Prestige cardholders which are pwede na sila mamili the day before the sale with additional 10% discount and additional 5% discount if they use a BDO credit card.

So ayun, tinawagan niya ako kagabi at pinasunod sa Southmall para raw hindi na ako makigulo sa first day of sale. Buti na lang at masunurin ako. Hehe! Nakapamili na kami last night which is a good call dahil wagas sa dami ng tao ang Southmall ngayon nung bumalik ako. Pila everywhere talaga and very chaotic...

Kaya lang naman ako bumalik ng Southmall dahil I need to buy a washing machine for our condo dahil nagrequest yung tenant namin. Good thing na maaga ako nandoon dahil wala pang pila sa SM Appliance and may additional 5% discount ako. =)

Pero I still tried to buy sa department store pero I failed. Hehe. Bibili kasi sana ako ng tealight candle dahil paubos na pala yung stock ko. Pero hindi ko na kinaya ang haba ng pila tapos yun lang naman ang bibilhin ko.

Nakakatawa pa nga dahil may spoof ako kanina eh. Sa may counter kasi may nabasa ako na sign... Priority lane for senior citizens, disabled and pregnant woman. Akala ko walang pila so pumuwesto ako dun since preggy ako. Sabay sabi ng girl sa counter, "Miss, pila po kayo." Tapos yung isang buyer sinabi sa akin sabay turo sa pila, "Miss, there's the line!" Yayks! Napahiya ako dun ha. Nagsorry na lang ako kasi honest mistake naman talaga dahil hindi ko nakita yung pila. Hindi pala applicable yung mga ganung sign sa mga panahon na ganito. Kung baga, walang senior senior at walang buntis buntis kapag sale ang SM! Hehe!

So yun lang po, shinashare ko lang yung experience ko for this sale. =)

Gassed Up for Coke and Max's =)

May hindi pa ako naikwento sa inyo. Eto yung mga latest experiences namin sa paglagay ng gasolina sa aming munting sasakyan. Hehehe.

May promo kasi ngayon ang mga Shell gas station. That is may libreng 1.5L Coke whenever you gas up (see their promo here). At the same time, on-going din ang promo ng EastWest Bank for Max's Fried Chicken (see their promo in my blog here). Knowing me, I took advantage of those promos. Sayang ang freebies di ba? Aminin, sino ba naman ang aayaw sa libre? Hahaha!

So eto na...

Scenario 1: Full Tank Didn't Reach P2,000.00

Minsan ako na ang nagvolunteer magpagas ng car ni hubby para habang kumakain siya ng dinner, nagpapagas na ako. So dali dali akong pumunta sa nearest Shell sa amin at nagpafull-tank. Napuno at kinalog kalog na ang sasakyan pero hindi pa rin umabot sa P2,000.00. Bitin ng P62.00. Sabi sa akin ng gasoline boy na ok lang dahil accumulated purchase naman yung P2k para maka-avail ng Coke. Pero sa akin, hindi ok yun dahil kailangan umabot ng P2k ang pag-swipe ko sa credit card ko para ma-avail ko yung promo. Hehehe.

Alam niyo ba kung ano ang ginawa ko para lang umabot ng P2k yung babayaran ko? Nakiusap ako sa gasoline boy na mag-abang ng jeep o tricycle na magpapagas and willing ako maghintay para ma-avail ko ang promo. Hahaha! Buti na lang at may tricycle kaagad na dumating. Actually, P50.00 lang ang ipapakarga niya pero di ko alam kung paano napapayag ng gasoline boy na P62.00 ang ipakarga. So ayun, solve na ang problema ko. May Coke na ako, may Max's pa ako. Hehehe.

Scenario 2: Natuyuan 

Eto ang the best experience! Para lang umabot ng P2k ang full-tank, pinakiusapan ko si hubby na isagad yung gas niya. Ok naman nung una, nakaabot sa bahay kaso lang iniwan muna niya na naka-idle yung sasakyan knowing na ready na kami umalis. Unfortunately, medyo natagalan kaya ayun, saktong sakto nung pagsakay namin sa car biglang tumigil! Natuyuan ng gasolina yung sasakyan namin!!! Sa ilang taon namin nagmamaneho, ngayon lang kami natuyuan ng gasolina at dahil lang yan sa mga promo promo na yan! Hehehe.
         
And for hubby, sobrang tawang tawa siya sa akin dahil sa ilang taon niyang minamaneho yung sasakyan niya, ngayon ko lang daw sinisi na walang warning sign yung gas niya. Hahaha. Kaya sabi niya kaagad sa akin na wag kong kalimutang iblog ito. Hehehe.

It's My Lucky Day Yesterday

Yesterday, my dad already bought me his long overdue gift. Walang topak at nasa mood ang lolo niyo. Hehehe. (peace dad!)

Dapat kasi ang talagang wish ko last year for my birthday is a Skagen ceramic watch which looks like this...

I tried to request it to my dad as his birthday present to me. He agreed naman pero damay na raw ang Christmas dun dahil medyo expensive ang watch. Ok naman sa akin, at least pumayag di ba? Hehe.. 

I asked my cousin to buy it for me sa US since nandun that time yung tito and tita ko. Unfortunately, hindi na naihabol dahil late ko na nasabi and baka hindi rin umabot yung delivery sa uwi nila. Kaya ayun, nakapending lang ang pagbili.

The other day, My Tempo (retailer of Technomarine) sent me an sms informing me of their mother's day promo. Trying my luck, I forwarded the sms to my dad and asked him kung puwede yun na lang. He replied by asking me how much is the watch. I told him that I have to inquire pa.

Pero sa totoo lang I have something in mind na actually. Hindi ko lang sinabi yung price kasi baka mag-NO kaagad. Hehe. It is the Technomarine Steel Regular in white. Yun kasi ang balak kong bilhin dati pa. Nag-aabang abang lang ako ng malaki laking sale. Hehe. In fact, nasa wallet ko pa nga yung quotation ng My Tempo dati sa akin eh. =) It looks like this except white yung strap niya and mother of pearl yung dial...

Then yesterday afternoon, after ng dedication ng anak ng cousin ko, niyaya ko ang dad ko sa Southmall to check out the watches at My Tempo. 

At My Tempo, I asked what collections are included in their mother's day promo. To my surprise, yung mga mahal na collection ang kasama sa promo (mas mahal pa dun sa nasa wish list ko). Pero I still tried to look. Hehehe. I checked on my dad's reaction sa prices and para namang uubra sa kanya dahil sa mga hirit niya. Then I asked him if it's ok and damay na rin niya yung Valentine's and Mother's Day 2013 (may maidamay lang talaga eh. Hahaha!). He agreed naman.

Credit Card Perks of the Day

I was able to get the following for free this afternoon...

Big N' Tasty from my Metrobank credit card which I gave to hubby since I'm not eating pork and beef anymore. I have two transaction slips pa nga kaso hindi na pasok sa promo period. Napahiya pa nga ako kasi all the while akala ko until March 15 ang promo nila. Hehehe.

Sesame Street 3 DVD Pack from my Standard Chartered credit card. I was able to redeem P300.00 worth of SM gift certificate which I used to buy this. The remaining balance was paid using my BDO rewards points.

Ang saya ano? I don't have any cash out today. Sana lagi na lang may promo ang mga credit cards para parati akong may freebies. Hehehe. =)

Pagbabakasakali Sa S&R Member's Treat 2013

Yesterday, my MIL called me up to tell me that she wants to go to the S&R Member's Treat 2013. I told her that it might be better to go there between 1:00pm to 5:00pm since it is a payday Friday. Mas maganda nang alanganing oras kami pumunta dahil malamang dadagsain ng tao after office hours since mga bagong sweldo ang mga tao.

We arrived there at around 4:00pm and nakaswerte kami dahil hindi nga ganong karami ang tao that time. May mga available parking slots pa kaya pagkapasok namin sa entrance, nakapark kagad kami.

Parang ordinary day lang sa S&R ano? Sobrang luwag!

Then sa pila naman for the pushcart, maiksi lang din so we didn't wait that much. Wala pang 10 minutes nakapasok kaagad kami...

Inside the store naman, hindi rin gaanong matao so walang masyadong "excuse me" sa paglilibot...

And since maaga aga kami nakarating sa S&R, pang 3 lang kami sa pila sa cashier...

Since its around 7:00pm na that time, pahaba na rin ng pahaba ang pila sa cashier...

Konti lang naman ang napamili ko that time since kakamonthly grocery ko lang nung March 3 and nakapamili (hoard?) na rin ako sa Duty Free sa Clark during the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. Essentials lang naman ang mga binili ko and some pabili from my mom. Sobrang nagpigil ako dahil ayaw ko naman bumili ng mga (1)hindi ko naman talaga kailangan like yung buy 1 take 1 tumbler, carry-on luggage and buy 1 take 1 insulated bags, etc. and (2)food items na empty calories lang ang laman na makakapagdelay sa pagpapapayat ko like yung lava cakes and buy 1 take 1 na ring cakes, etc.
