Food Trip: Container Turf

Last night, we decided to eat at Container Turf. Na-curious kasi kami eh, so gusto namin ma-try sabay maki-usi. Haha!

It is located inside BF Paranaque, along Aguirre street. It is a new establishment kaya marami ang taong pumupunta.

So here is the facade of Container Turf... basically, mga container siya na pinaganda ang setup...

Parking area...

Here are some pictures that I took inside...

1st floor...

Second Floor...

Meron pa silang veranda area eh. Pero I didn't go there na kasi umuulan.

Anyway, remember Street Life? Parang ganun siya dahil maraming food stalls inside pero minus the passport. Aside sa mga food stalls, masasabi mo rin na gimikan siya (Sorry for the term, tita na kasi ako eh, gimikan kasi ang tawag namin before. Hahaha!). Ang daming mga bagets! Naalala ko tuloy nung kabataan ko. Haha!

With the food choices, hindi siya yung tipikal na pang-real meal. Ummm... Real meal? Yung kanin levels ba.

Here are the food that we ate last night...

We got Four Cheese Pizza and Ayan's Carbonara form Ayan's Food Stall...

Chicken Potato Volcano from Tyler's Food Hub...

Ebi Tempura from Tokyo Tempura Unlimited...

Hash Brown Sandwich from Zig-Ah-Zig (complimentary from the owner who happens to be my schoolmate) =)

Chicken Wings and Bagnet Rice from Bagwings...

Got this Bubble Waffle from Bubble Wraps...

Pricewise, some food are reasonably priced and some are not. Pero generally for me, reasonable naman. Ang labo ba? Haha! Eto na lang para medyo clear... For the 6 items that we ordered, we spent around P1,250.00. Sobrang di worth it daw.

For instance, yung bottled water is P50.00 and yung isang fishbowl ng iced tea is P180.00.

For the taste, pasado naman sa panlasa namin. Naubos namin eh. Hahaha!

If you were to ask me if babalikan pa namin ito, I'm really not sure. Feeling ko kasi, hindi pang-family ang ambiance, more on pang-bagets siya... gimikan ba... or hang-out... Pero if you just love to try new and unique food, ok naman ang place since maraming food na kakaiba.

So that's our experience at Container Turf! =)

Food Trip: Erawan Thai Food

One time, I craved for Pad Thai noodles pero our favorite Thai resto is in Makati pa (that is Som's Noodle House). Buti na lang there is this Thai resto inside our village that's why there is no need to travel far na. The name is Erawan Thai Food.

Actually, I've been seeing Erawan Thai Food na before. That is when it was still located along Lalaine Bennett St. I've always wanted to try its food but parking prevents me to. As far as I remember, parang wala itong available na parking tapos it is located along the main road pa.

Now, it transferred already along BF Resort Drive, kaya ayun, we had a chance to dine in already.

It is just a small restaurant as you can see here...

At peak hours, maraming kumakain. Buti na lang when we came there, patapos na mga tao kumain kaya nakakuha kami kaagad ng table.

Here is their menu...

We ordered the following:

Large Thai Fried Rice...

P170.00

Their fried rice is yummy! Kahit walang ulam, ok na!

Large Chicken Pad Thai...

P200.00

Masarap rin naman their Pad Thai pero I like Som's more. Haha!

Large Thai Crispy Fish...

P150.00

For this one, ang nagdala is the sauce. May pagka sweet and tangy ang flavor. Maganda rin ang pagkaprito ng fish so it's crispy from the outside and juicy inside. Nagustuhan nga ng mga bagets eh.

We ordered also Thai Milk Tea priced at P60.00. Sakto lang. It doesn't have the woody taste (if it's how to describe it) that I've expecting.

Overall, taste-wise and price-wise, it is reasonable naman. We will probably go back to have a quick fix of our Thai cravings!

Food Trip: Suzu Kin

Hello! Hello! Hello!

Kamusta???

Long time no hear ano? Pasensya na po mga amigos... Sobrang toxic ko lang po ngayon eh... First, kakauwi lang namin from Japan last July 8. Then after that, di pa kami nakakasettle sa house, last Friday, we went overnight naman sa Makati Shangri-La because hubby needs to attend an event. Then Saturday, straight from the hotel, I went grocery shopping with the 3 chikitings (Yes! This week naman, need ko naman maghabol for the BIR eklaver ni hubby, homeschool of the kambal, football class, bookings for the corporate planning of my dad's office... etcetera... etcetera...

Ako na! Ako na! Ako na si Curacha! Ang babaeng walang pahinga!!! Hahaha!

Anyway, before I start making kuwento to you guys about our adventures and (mostly) misadventures at Japan, I'll tell you first about our food trip at Suzu Kin. Ang tagal na rin kasi nito eh. =)

Suzu Kin is a Japanese restaurant in San Antonio Village, Makati. It's just small and old restaurant. Balita ko, the owner of this restaurant is a Japanese. So we could say that they serve authentic Japanese food.

Here is the facade of the restaurant...

Here is what's inside...

We ordered the following:

Atsuage...

P137.00

This is our appetizer. It's crunchy outside and soft inside. Very simple lang siya. Since mahilig ako sa tokwa/tofu, I really liked this. And in fairness ha, marami rami siya.

Ebi Tempura Teishuko...

P240.00

This is what I ordered. Feel ko kasi mag ebi tempura that night eh and this is one of the highly recommended food of other foodies out there. Their tempura is really yummy. For their miso soup, ang sarap din! Kakaiba siya. Yung tipong kumpleto ang sangkap.

Chicken Don...

P150.00

I ordered this for the boys. I tasted this. Ang sarap din! And ang dami niya ha.

Tempura Udon...

P142.00

This is what hubby ordered. Si noodles kasi yun eh. Malaki rin yung serving. Actually, pwedeng to share ito. Hahaha! According to hubby, masarap yung noodles nila.

May side kuwento ako...

Me (jokingly): Bakit?
Doc Padu (nalungkot): Ganun? Sige na nga wag na lang.
Me: Joke lang!

Then di rin makatiis. Kaya pasimple pa siya...

Doc Padu: Masarap ba yan?
Me: Ewan ko.

Doc Padu (paawa effect): A-ba-ngers... Hmf!

Yan lang ang side kuwento ko. Sarap lang kasi asarin ni hubby eh. Ganyan talaga kami, carino brutal! Hahaha!

Anyway, balik tayo...

Overall, the food is great with affordable price! Biruin mo wala pang P700.00 ang nakain namin considering na Japanese food siya and we are not talking about Japanese fast food here ha. Given a chance, we'll probably go back here, yun nga lang sana hindi problem ang parking.

For your reference, here is a photo of their menu...

Food Trip: Chichops - Your Fried Chicken and Smoothie Corner

Our next hole in the wall restaurant stop in Makati was at Chichops. It's just a small corner restaurant located at 245 Pablo Ocampo Ext. , Ocampo St., La Paz, Makati. Salamat sa Waze dahil kung wala ito, hindi namin matutungo yung place since we are not familiar with the place.

Here is the facade of the restaurant...

They do have a take out counter outside the restaurant...

Inside the restaurant...

Here are what we ordered:

House blend iced tea...

add P25.00 for chicken meals; add P20.00 for Chicken Biryani

In fairness, their house blend iced tea really taste good. Sayang because they don't offer refillable iced tea. Kami pa naman ang familia iced tea.

Double Chicken Meal (Buttered)...

P135.00

Single Chicken Meal (Buttered)...

P75.00

These fried chicken meals are for me and the kids. Pansin niyo medyo dark yung color ng chicken? Buttered kasi eh. Their chicken tastes good and juicy inside. Yun nga lang, medyo maliit ang chicken nila for the solo serving.

For this chicken, tama na ang one to two chicken for each person. Above two kasi, medyo nakakaumay na since fried na, buttered pa siya.

Solo Chicken Biryani...

P150.00

This is hubby's order. Mahilig kasi yun sa Indian food eh. Feeling Indian eh! Haha! This one tastes really good and the best part of this meal is that they really use Basmati rice. Sosyal di ba?

Roti Bread...

P15.00 each

Buko Smoothie...

P60.00

For smoothies, I prefer mango or banana. Pero nung nagdine-in kami, no choice ako with buko kasi wala nang ibang available kundi buko. Haha! Nakakadisappoint lang kasi I'm looking forward pa naman with their smoothie since they are a smoothie corner and ang gaganda ng reviews sa mga smoothie nila. But still, masarap pa rin naman yung buko smoothie nila. Very refreshing and hindi tinipid sa buko and milk.

For your reference, here is their menu...

Overall, we are satisfied naman with our dining experience there. Our total damage for the night is P590.00.  Puwede na dahil naka dalawang smoothies kami and may extra rice pa yun.

We'll definitely go back here and try their burgers and roti wraps. =)

Food Trip: Village Tavern

One Sunday, after going to Antipolo and Baras, Rizal, we went to BGC for dinner. She asked us where we want to eat and I suggested Village Tavern. Di pa kasi kami nakakain diyan and magaganda yung mga reviews na nababasa ko about the restaurant.

Village Tavern is located at the 2/F Bonifacio High Street Central, 7th Ave., Taguig, Metro Manila.

Here is the facade of the restaurant...

We were given free bread...

The bread is newly baked and it comes with olive oil with herbs. Sayang because they don't have balsamic vinegar. Hindi kasi ako sanay na olive oil lang ang dip eh that's why we asked na lang for some parmesan cheese.

Here are our orders:

New England Clam Chowder (Split into two)...

P225.00

This soup tasted really good yun nga lang medyo bitin. But it was really creamy ha.

Okra Fritters...

Sorry I forgot the price of this. Hindi ko rin masearch sa net eh. Mukhang limited offering lang kasi eto. Anyway, I was really disappointed with the okra fritters. Hindi kasi eto yung ineexpect ko eh. The first time I tasted okra (lady's fingers) fritters was in US and it was super sarap, crunchy and malinamnam. With this one, medyo makunat (mukhang magulang na yung okra) and it tasted bland.

Four Cheese Pizzetas...

P295.00

You'll never go wrong with an order of four cheese pizza. Enough said!

Snapper Hemingway (Regular)...

P550.00

This is the order of my dad. He liked it and he said that it tasted good.

Carbonara (Regular)...

P395.00

I ordered this for the twins. Favorite kasi nila ang carbonara eh. They liked this as well, naubos nila yung nilagay ko sa plate nila eh!

Chicken Kiev...

P375.00

This is my order and I super loved it! Ang sarap ng cream cheese filling niya sa loob and the chicken is juicy. Plus factor pa dito is that it was served with a delicious mashed potato (I love potatoes).

Monterey Chicken...

P495.00

I ordered this for hubby. Tinikman ko siyempre and ang yummy rin! The chicken was so flavorful and juicy. I like the taste of the rice pilaf too.

Pansin niyo si Mama G walang food? Eto kasi ang kuwento niyan...

Tinotopak kasi that time si Christoff. Hindi namin alam kung ano ang gusto. We tried to put him to sleep, no effect. We tried to carry him, no effect. We tried walking him, no effect. Kaya Mama G volunteered to carry him and make him aliw first outside the restaurant. Before going out, nagbilin siya na order ko raw siya ng clam chowder and four cheese pizza. All the while, akala ko yun na yung order niya. Then when the orders are already coming, she went back.

Mama G: Ano inorder mo sa akin anak?
Me: Clam chowder and four cheese pizza.
Mama G: Hindi, yung pagkain ko?
Me: Huh!?

Hehehe. Pero hindi naman, lahat naman natikman niya. Hehehe. =)

So that's it! We enjoyed our dinner at Village Tavern!

Food Trip: Bagnet 8065

Last Thursday, we had another foodventure in Makati after the twins' football training. Hahaha! Segway muna ako ha... Share ko lang conversation namin sa car...

After I settled in the car...

Doc Padu: Be, san tayo magdidinner mamaya?
Me: Ha!?

Ano masasabi niyo? Hahaha!

Anyway, we had our dinner at Bagnet 8065.

Here is the facade of the restaurant...

As you can see, wala siyang parking area.

Non-aircon area...

First floor from the door...

You may notice na maraming nakasabit sa gilid na frames and may mga awards. They belong to Kitchie Nadal. Nacurious tuloy si hubby. He thought that the restaurant was owned by her. To be sure, tinanong niya yung waiter. Yun pala it was owned by her brother.

First floor from the far end...

Second floor...

Akalain niyo, there are more seats upstairs pa pala. So ibig sabihin, marami talagang kumakain.

Here is a picture of me with my twins...

Ang ganda ng mga ngiti ano?

So we ordered the following:

Bagnet Dinuguan (Budget Meal)...

P120.00

Order ito ni hubby. Supposedly, dapat yung good for two ang oorderin namin para di siya mabitin.

Good thing that hubby got the budget meal. If ever na yung good for two raw ang kinuha niya, malamang hindi niya mauubos. Ang lakas daw sa kanin nung dinuguan! And ang sarap sarap daw! Are you familiar with the crispy dinuguan of Kanin Club? Parang ganun din daw ang lasa and texture. Kaya ang description niya with his food is "SOLID"!

According to the server, 200grams daw ng bagnet yun eh.

Crispy Chicken Curry (Budget Meal)...

P120.00

This is my order. I ordered curry, kasi favorite ko yun lalo na kapag maanghang. For this one, medyo nadisappoint ako sa curry sauce. Yung curry niya, yung typical Pinoy curry. Yung bland lang and mas angat yung gata kesa sa curry powder. Pero with the crispy chicken, wala akong masasabi, lumelevel sa Max's yung lasa. Masarap yung chicken nila. And in fairness ha, ang laki ng chicken.

Original Crispy Chicken (Budget Meal)...

P115.00

This is what I ordered for the twins. As I have said earlier, their chicken is yummy. Nagustuhan ng mga bata. How did I know na nagustuhan nila? Naubos nila yung food eh. Haha!

We ordered tortang talong kaso lang na-sold out na. At siyempre we also ordered extra rice and 1.5L of Royal.

Our total bill is only P505.00! Pwede na ano? Busog na busog naman kami paglabas eh. Hahaha! Hahaha!

For your reference, below is their menu...

Bagnet 8065

8065 Estrella St.,
San Antonio Village, Makati City

by the way, they have another branch which is at Leon Guinto St., Malate, Manila.

Well, where will be our next stop? Hmmm... Perhaps we will try Chichops...

Til' our next foodventure!!!
