Food Discovery: Frontier Etali Flavoured Crispy Cream Wafers

I really love discovering new food. Not only because of my kids, but because I'm like that ever since. I don't know if nabanggit ko na sa inyo ito. Mahilig kasi ako magtry ng mga bagong food and mga bago sa mata ko.

For snacks, one of my favorite is wafer. Mahilig talaga ako diyan, particulary vanilla flavor (I'm not a chocolate kind of girl. Hehe!). So one time, at the supermarket, I spotted Frontier Etali Flavoured Crispy Cream Wafers. Naaliw ako. Iba iba ang mga flavor. May chocolate, orange, vanilla, strawberry and matcha. I bought all flavors except chocolate. Hehe. Masarap sila lahat!

Here is the photo of the packaging in case you are curious (sorry, I finished na the orange flavor before I took this photo.)...

And guess what? Very affordable siya compared sa ibang imported wafers. It only costs P55.50 each. Oks na oks sa budget di ba?

So that's it! 'Til my new food discovery!!!

Food Discovery: Jack n' Jill Calbee Jagabee Potato Fries

From my latest trip to the supermarket last Saturday, I discovered a new product of Jack n' Jill. I don't know ha kung bago lang talaga siya, kasi it was my first time to see this product.

It's the Jack n' Jill Calbee Jagabee...

Since I wanted to try it, I bought all the 3 flavors - Classic Salted, Garlic and Cheese flavor. Yes, ganun talaga ako. Lahat talaga ng flavors binili ko para itry. Hahaha!

I first opened the classic salted flavor pack. Siyempre, you always try the classic flavor first! And the verdict? It's a yum yum!!! Kitang kita mo na real potatoes siya. Para lang siyang french fries na air fried.

The only drawback with this product is medyo bitin ang laman ng isang mini pack. Siguro ako I can eat 3 mini packs in one sitting. I tried checking the nutrition facts at the back, medyo mataas ang calorie content niya. Maybe that explains why konti ang laman ng isang mini pack.

Anyway, with the price naman, P62.00 lang siya for the stand up pouch (contains 5 mini packs). Pwede na di ba? Considering na real potatoes siya. Para ka na rin bumili ng large fries sa Mc Do. Hehe.

I haven't tried the other flavors yet. Pero I'm sure masarap din yun. I'll definitely buy packs of these products in my next grocery shopping! =)

Food Trip: Cerealicious Cafe

Since we transferred to our new home, I've been seeing the Cerealicious Cafe around. Nakaka-attract lang talaga yung colors ng cafe kaya I got curious to try it. Actually, ang tagal ko na niyayaya si hubby to try it, kaso lang he always go home late na. Kaya ayun, one fine afternoon, niyakag ko ang aking mga Kulilits and we tried it ourselves.

I ordered a Blockbuster size of Charlie and the Chocnut Factory with a scoop of vanilla ice cream...

P130.00

This is a mix of Milo balls, Bananas and Chocnut. Like ko kasi ang bananas and Chocnut eh that's why I ordered this. I loved my order. Ang sarap lang talaga ng mix ng mga ingredients plus very smooth yung ice shavings. Yun nga lang I find it medyo matabang considering I got a full sugar level. Apart from that, medyo bitin ako. Hehe. Di ko alam, baka malakas lang talaga kasi ako kumain lalo pa na cold item ito. Hahaha!

For the price of their cereals, I think it's pricey for me kasi nga bitin ako kahit blockbuster size na kinuha ko. Pero personal opinion ko lang naman yun ha. Hehe. =)

For the boys naman, Ian ordered Blackforest Frappe while Chris ordered Mango Yogurt drink...

I got both of them a large drink kasi konti lang naman ang difference dun sa smaller na size. For Ian, he super liked his drink. Ayaw nga mamigay eh. Hahaha! Pero siyempre tinikman ko pa rin. Masarap naman pala talaga kaya ayaw mamigay. Hehehe. For Chris naman, hindi niya siguro masyadong type kasi may natira siyang kaunti. I tasted it, ummmm... medyo lasang gamot for me.

For the price of their drinks naman, sulit naman siya since nasa less than P100.00 lang ang mga price for the large size.

Overall, we had a great experience at Cerealicious Cafe. Probably, we'll go back for their cold drinks! =)

Food Discovery: Yumpanada's Chicken Empanada

I have a new favorite snack. It's the chicken empanada of Yumpanada! =)

Yes, I know that Yumpanada has been existing for the longest time already. But I just had a taste of it when the seller of the house that we bought gave me some during one of our meetings. It's so yummy, I swear!

Initially, I didn't know that it's from Yumpanada. I even asked the seller where did she buy it and she just told me that she bought it at a kiosk in front of KFC (previously Fernando's Supermarket)  near Philam Village. Then one Sunday after we visited one of my best friends at Philam Village, I looked for the kiosk and that's the only time I learned that it was Yumpanada.

Here is the kiosk...

A closer look of their assorted empanadas...

If I only knew that it was Yumpanada, I could have just gone to their branch at SM Southmall (I believe I saw one there). Hehe. Anyway, aside from being yummy, it is also inexpensive. It's only P20.00 per piece for their regular empanada. Aside from that, they have Yumsavers wherein you get additional discount if you buy in bulk.

So that's it! A new favorite in my list. =)

Food Discovery: Poker Vanilla Cream Wafers

In my quest to find Bambu Milk Cream Wafer Sandwich, I discovered Poker Vanilla Cream Wafers...

I (with Mama G as the financier) bought it from Savemore Supermarket at Festival Supermall. It tastes so much the same as the Bambu brand and the Kulilits loved it also. It is an imported brand that's why it's quite expensive. Nevertheless, it's worth it!!!

Food Discovery: Eng Bee Tin Hopia Mongo Supreme

Last Chinese New Year, a client of my dad gave him assorted Eng Bee Tin products - different varieties of hopia and different flavors of tikoy. Since I'm a fan of hopia mongo, I got a pack and did not notice that the pack that I got is extra special. It has a salted duck egg yolk in it!!! Jackpot!!! I was really surprised because it was the first time I ate hopia with a salted duck egg yolk since normally it can only be found in moon cakes or egg yolks.

I got curious so I checked the packaging immediately. I read it carefully and found out that it is Hopia Mongo Supreme. That's the only time that I knew that there is such a thing as Hopia Mongo Supreme. Hehehe. I told my mom immediately and asked her to buy if she gets a chance to go to an Eng Bee Tin store. =)

Here is the photo of the packaging...

Here is the photo of the hopia itself...

This hopia is super yummy, promise!

WICKED's Formal Opening

When I received an invite to attend WICKED's formal opening, I felt really excited. Why??? Well, look at how their products were described in the invite...

"Join us as we celebrate WICKED's opening, featuring a line of luscious, sinful desserts that will not only captivate your sweet tooth but your imagination as well. Let Pastry Chef Christine Paredes take you on a journey that will from Reese Peanut Butter Cupcake covered with rich Peanut Butter Ganache, Campfire Chocolate Cupcake with Marshmallows burnt to perfection bathed in Milk Chocolate Ganache, to Brookies, a perfect marriage between a moist Brownie and crispy Cookie, and more!"

Who wouldn't be excited, right? I don't have a sweet tooth, but my love for food made me say yes to this event. Hehe!

So there, I went to WICKED's formal opening last Tuesday at the 5/F East Wing, Shangri-La Plaza Mall. There were already a lot of people when I arrived.

Here's the facade of the restaurant...

Simple but interesting logo...

Cakes and other desserts...

Cupcakes...

The dessert table...

I, together with other bloggers and media people, had a cupcake decorating activity. We also had a chance to talk to Pastry Chef Christine Paredes wherein she explained why WICKED's products are unique as compared to other pastry shops.

And of course, we were given a chance to taste most of their desserts.

Brookies paired with milk...

I love this! It's not that sweet. I'm sure that anyone who'll taste this will love it too.

Twix Cheesecake Jr. and Cherry Walnut Cheesecake Jr....

I also love their cheescakes - taste and texture. You'll never get tired of its taste.

White Russian Fondue...

This one is for dark chocolate lovers. The white chocolate fondue has a liquor on it.

Chili Almond Avocado Brownie, Walnut Brownie and Rebel Bar...

Everything is moist. What I like most is the Walnut Brownie because it's not that sweet.

Wicked Stepmother Apple Pie...

It's an apple pie with ice cream on top.

Rich and Velvety Flourless Chocolate Tart, Salted Caramel Pecan Tart and Seasonal Fruit Tart with Roasted Almond Flakes...

My favorite here is the Seasonal Fruit Tart. Its taste is just right and I love the sweetness of the strawberries.

Chocolate Cupcake with Edible GoldRed Velvet Cupcake and Vanilla Cupcake...

Spiced Pumpkin Lolly...

I like this also. This is more of a snack than a dessert. I love the mixture of flavors and the crust.

Calories overload don't you think? Well, I just had a little bit of everything just to know the taste of each product.

And of course, I bought some products too so that my family could taste it. I bought Twix Cheesecake Jr., Cherry Walnut Cheesecake Jr., Seasonal Fruit Tart with Almond Flakes and Brookies (these are my bet!).

By the way, here is their menu for your reference...

Food Discovery: Tee Up Cream Puffs

I dunno if masyado na akong huli sa balita. Pero this is my latest discovery at the supermarket...

Monde Tee Up Cream Puffs

I'm looking for some snacks for the kulilits when I saw these. It has two flavors - chocolate cream and custard cream. Naintriga ako, so dumampot ako. If you notice, mukha siyang mahal dahil sa packaging niya di ba? Pero it is so affordable. Less than P20.00 lang ang isa.

I tasted it and ok naman. Ok lang kasi di naman ganung kasarap unlike yung mga totoong cream puffs. Pero pwede na ito pang snack snack lang ng mga kiddos. =)

Food Discovery: Tedi Chocolate Cookies

I have a new discovery and my twins loved it!!!

When I went to the grocery store, I tried to look for animal crackers for my babies. Unfortunately, they don't have any. Instead, I saw this:

Tedi Bear Shaped Chocolate Cookies

It is a bear shaped chocolate cookies by Island Biscuit and it only costs less than P5.00 a pack. I bought one pack first to try if my twins would like it.

I opened the pack one afternoon and gave one piece at a time to my twins so that they could eat it while they are watching a movie. They liked it and finished the pack. Out of curiosity, I tried a piece and it really tastes good. Actually, it tastes like an oreo cookie.

The next time I go back to the grocery store, I will buy these cookies again for my twins.
