Kulilits' 3rd Birthday at Brasas Evia

After we attended the Johnson's Baby Factory Launch at Active Fun BGC, we went to Brasas at Evia for the Kulilits' 3rd birthday celebration.

I chose Brasas because I got intrigued when a Facebook friend posted a photo of them eating there. The food seems very appetizing that's why I asked that FB friend where is it located and told to myself that I'll eat there someday.

The restaurant space of Brasas at Evia is just small with al fresco dining. Since we have kids and an infant with us, we chose to be seated inside.

There were a lot of diners by the time we arrived there so we waited outside first. While waiting, the Kulilits' Tito Ninong Paolo excitedly gave his gift to the boys to keep them busy...

After almost an hour, we were finally led inside the restaurant.

We stayed at the restaurant's loft which made it look that it was exclusive for us...

The food serving size at Brasas is American serving size. It can be eaten by a single person or can be shared depending on the appetite of the person who will eat. In our case, I ordered two serving of each and just bought extra rice.

The food there is delicious. Hubby's favorite is the Puerco Asado. He told me that my order is not enough for him and he wanted more. What I liked most are their rice for you can eat it as is. I loved their rice & beans and Latin rice pilaf.

The price of their food is relatively inexpensive since they have big serving. Imagine, our bill did not even reach P2,000.00 (net of the Senior Citizen discounts of course). =)

This also reminded me of my dirty face photo when I was a kid (with mangoes all over my face and body) which made me caption Ian's photo "You've never been a kid if you don't have a photo like this..."

Prophet Sadhu's Prophecy to the Philippines

When I checked my Twitter, I saw that the number one trending topic is #PrayForPangasinan. I got curious so I read the tweets under that topic. From the tweets, I learned about Prophet Sadhu and his prophecy to the Philippines. Again, I got curious so I searched for his prophecy on YouTube.

Let me share it to you...

Scary right? Actually, I got goosebumps while watching it because we've experienced some calamities already at the exact places that Prophet Sadhu mentioned such as Samar, Leyte, Mindoro, Palawan, etc.

Now, it was in the news last night  that there is this certain mysterious flesh-eating skin disease in Pangasinan.

Check on this...

Pangasinan was also mentioned in the prophecy which coincidentally matched what has been happening there right now.

Bet On Your Baby Experience

It has been a month now since our BOYB episode was aired. We were actually the first set of twins who played in the BOYB twins edition. =) All I can say is that we had an awesome and memorable experience during the taping. At least for one day, we got a feel on how to be an artista (actor/actress). Hehe.

We had our taping last January 14, 2014 and I was just almost a month post cs op then. But that did not stop us from joining the game show for we don't want to miss the once in a lifetime opportunity that was given us to win a million peso (minus the 20% price tax, of course) and to be seen on national television. Hehe.

Anyway, that Tuesday, we arrived at ABS CBN area at around 2:00pm. We had our late lunch first before going inside ABS CBN. At around 3:00pm, we went inside already and proceeded to the dressing room.

The twins went to the play area first together with the other twins and had some activities with a teacher while I had my hair and make-up done.

At around 6:00pm, we were asked to go inside the BOYB studio. We had a briefing first about what we were suppose to do during the taping plus the blocking. Then after that, the studio audience were already asked to go inside to practice the BOYB dance steps. In between practice, the Kulilits went gaga at the studio. They went to the stage and played there.

They even got the attention of the BOYB dancers...

The actual taping started at around 7:00pm already. We were the first one to play. It was super funny that time because when we were about to be introduced, there was a technical difficulty that time. The automatic door were we came out did not fully open because it got stuck. It was only when the director called cut when we realized the reason why we had a hard time going out of the door. Hubby and I actually bumped on each other while going out because we were trying to fit through the door. Hehe.

Anyway, while they were fixing the door, my cousin took a photo of me and hubby...

So there, after 15 minutes, the automatic door was fixed already then we resumed our taping. We had some chikka first with Juday at the start. It was actually long compared to what was aired. After that, the Kulilits played already with their daddy inside the baby dome while I stayed with Juday. While watching the Kulilits play, I was cheering like crazy all the time. Unfortunately, we lost this round because I had a wrong bet. Haha! Anyway, a P5,000.00 consolation prize was given to us. Hehe.

Losing the first round did not make us lose our hopes because there is still a jackpot round.  =)

Before the jackpot round, I'm telling myself that I need to win the round. That is because (1) we need additional money for the renovation of the house that we just bought and (2) being a competitive person and a UP graduate, I think that it is very shameful of me if I don't win (that's just my opinion).

During the jackpot round, all the twins are starting to remove the stuffed toys to reveal the pictures that we need to guess. I really focused on the pictures so that I can guess first. When I already know the phrase and ready to guess it, I immediately pressed the button of the joystick that I'm holding. Then Juday called my name and asked me for my answer. I'm very lucky to answer it correctly. When I'm told that my answer is correct, I'm totally on cloud nine that time because I can't believe that I won.

Moving forward to the basagin ang baboy part (breaking of the piggy bank), we were given 3 chances. The numbers that we have in mind were 2,1 and 7. We chose piggy bank number 2 first which contains P250,000.00. At that point, it was very hard for us to decide if we are still going to take another chance because that is already the highest amount before the P1 million and the house and lot. But then, we have nothing to lose since we went to ABS CBN with nothing so we took another chance. Hubby broke piggy bank number 1 which contains P200,000.00. After that, we settled already with that amount and did not take our last chance anymore. Juday gave us the opportunity to check what's inside piggy bank number 7 (which was not aired). Good thing that we stopped already because piggy bank number 7 contains only P150,000.00 for the P1 million and house and lot were in piggy banks number 5 and 6 respectively.

After the taping, we had our souvenir photo with Ms. Judy Ann "Juday" Santos Agoncillo...

P200,000.00 (P160,000.00 net of 20% price tax) is good enough for us. It will be a big help in our house renovation. =) What's important is that we enjoyed the game show plus the fact that we had our 30 minute of fame! Hehe! =)

Anyway, in my previous blog post, someone asked me for a tip during the mock play (audition). Again, here are my personal tips...

1. Make sure that your child has already eaten before the audition.
2. Make sure that your child slept well (have a complete sleep).
3. Let your child be a child be child, don't pressure them.
4. Excite your child by telling him/her that he/she will play inside the baby dome.
5. Make sure that your child is active because they want to see an active child and not a robot.
6. Just be yourselves, enjoy and don't be nervous because they want to see a happy family.

Food Discovery: Poker Vanilla Cream Wafers

In my quest to find Bambu Milk Cream Wafer Sandwich, I discovered Poker Vanilla Cream Wafers...

I (with Mama G as the financier) bought it from Savemore Supermarket at Festival Supermall. It tastes so much the same as the Bambu brand and the Kulilits loved it also. It is an imported brand that's why it's quite expensive. Nevertheless, it's worth it!!!

One Weekend with Lolo Em and Lola Es

One Sunday, we had an instant meetup with my in-laws at Alabang Town Center. They brought the Kulilits este the Kulilits dragged them to the Timezone area. Hehe. They were just there the whole time playing and playing which drained the wallet of their Lolo and Lola. As what Lolo Em jokingly commented, "Ang lakas makaubos ng pera!"

Looking at the photos, I could say that they all had fun that time. It was a bonding moment of the Kulilits with their Lolo Em and Lola Es which was a very treasurable experience.

My Valentine's Day

Guess who's my date last Valentine's Day????

Who else? It's my bunso and bodyguard, Roy Christoff...

This is not his photo that day because I forgot to take some pictures of him. Hehe. Anyway, he's my bodyguard because I breastfeed so I bring him everywhere I go. And he was my date because hubby was too busy that day.

So where did we go?

First, we went to S&R to check some sale items there and I ended up buying all of these...

Some of those items are for my project (soon to be revealed), some for our home, some for hubby's only (my Valentine's Day gift) and some for Christoff's dedication. Yes, I already bought some souvenirs for Christoff's dedication and I so so love it!!!

After S&R, we went to Toy Kingdom at SM Southmall because I need to redeem my freebies from my Standard Chartered Credit Card. I got a big play mat which we will use for picnics and fruit toys for the Kulilits.

By the way, the Kulilits loved their new toy. They enjoyed cutting the fruits in half. Hehe...

Going back...

I passed by Baby Company to buy a baby sling. I'm just going to wear Christoff from time to time whenever we go out because he is already to heavy and bringing the baby basket around is becoming a hassle already.

Next is I went to Salazar Bakery kiosk to buy Ian and hubby assorted hopia...

After that, we went home already and cooked hubby a special dinner since we didn't go on a date...

Kulilit Moments: Kids Do Say The Darndest Things

All of these conversations happened yesterday:

Scenario 1: Opposites

During our homeschool while studying about opposites...

Me: What is the opposite of big?

Ian & Chris: Small!

Me: What is the opposite of upstairs?

Ian & Chris: Downstairs

Me: What is the opposite of dry?!

Chris (thought about it for awhile): Taking a bath!

Well... Well... What an imagination! In order for you to get wet, you need to take a bath! At least I know that Chris knows how to relate words with actions. Hehe! =)

Scenario 2: Teeth

Last night, I cooked a steak with buttered corn for hubby. While hubby was preparing to eat...

Ian: Mommy, daddy's going to eat some teeth!

Me (just to myself): Huh???

At first, I didn't get it what Ian is telling me until hubby's about to eat the corn...

Ian: Daddy, don't eat that! 

Daddy: Why?

Ian: Those are teeth!!!

Ha! Ha! Ha! Well, it's true that corn kernels look like teeth... Hehe!

Wait! I remembered another scenario while I'm writing this blog entry. Here it is...

One time, when I'm about to eat chicken feet at Panciteria Lido, Chris commented, "Look Mama G, mommy is eating hands!"

Well, kids do say the darndest things!

Homeschooling the Kulilits: 12th & 13th Week

At this point, I'm so happy about the Kulilits. That is because they were already the ones initiating to start our homeschool for the day. Immediately after they finishes their breakfast, they'll tell me "Mommy, let's do playschool!". We coin "homeschool" as "playschool" because we learn through play and I think that's appropriate to their age right now (they are more than 2 1/2 years old when we started). The Kulilits are playing and learning at the same time which makes them more interested to learn more. Thus, they are enjoying and having fun during the process.

Week 12

In week 12, we studied about letter J and its sound, counting by 2's and some simple rhythmic patterns. We also learned about Hannah (how she asked God for a child, how her prayers were answered, how she was thankful to God for answering her prayers and how she kept her promise to God), Samuel (how he obeyed God), Saul (how God made him king), being joyful and how prayer keeps us close to God.

Here are some of the activities that we did in week 12:

Week 13

Me: Alam ko naman talaga na hindi ikaw ang bumili nito eh dahil hindi naman ako chocolate lover. Eh di kung ikaw ang bumili nito, ibig sabihin hindi mo ako kilala. (I know that you did not buy this for me because I'm not a chocolate lover. If ever you did, it just means to say that you don't know me.)
