Food Discovery: Biggie Softdrinks (3 Liters)

When we were in Texas, I'm so amazed when I saw these:

Imagine, may 3 Liters softdrinks na pala? This is for parties or to someone addicted to softdrinks (like my brother who is so addicted to Coke...Hehehe...Peace bro!).

Super natuwa lang ako kasi first time ko makakita ng 3 Liters softdrinks. =)

Food Trip: Town Dog's

Our cousins (Jaime and Kuya Jobet) brought us to Sta. Monica Pier during our trip to L.A. While walking around, we saw Town Dog's. Jaime recommended it to hubby and told us that it was featured in the food channel.

Jaime ordered this for hubby:

This is hotdog sandwich is really good! Sulit ang money. Ok rin kasi there is a twist in the sandwich. As you can see, there are some chips on it.

Below is the hotdog stand. Talagang nagpaphoto op ang hubby here. Hehehehe...

You can see, happy na happy si hubby. Pangarap kasi niya to eat at a hotdog stand sa US eh. Actually, ang gusto niya Sabrett sa New York kaso nga lang wala sa itinerary namin ang New York. Next time na lang siguro pag bumalik kami sa US. Ang tanong: kailan kaya yun? Hehehe...

Flight Experience with Twins: Manila to L.A.

Our trip to the US is extra challenging. In our flight going to L.A., it was only hubby, our twins and me who traveled. You can't just imagine how tiring the flight could be - with the long travel hours, balikbayan boxes and the kulilits(the twins). Grabe, sa NAIA pa lang during our check-in, tagaktak pawis na ako. They want it mobile. Ayun mukha akong tanga sa kalalakad sa kanilang dalawa. Just imagine me pushing two strollers at the same time around the airport.

During our flight naman, buti naman behave sila. Hindi sila pumipiglas while they are on our lap. The hassle part lang is when it's time to eat na. Pareho kami ni hubby may kalong na baby, so we take turns in eating. Then after I eat, siya naman. Ay naku, nabad trip nga ako during our first meal. Hmp!

Aside sa meals during the flight, ang hirap din yung part na magpreprepare ng milk nila. Lalo na masikip and may hawak na baby. Haaayyy...

Another challenge is yung pagpee namin ni hubby. Ako lang yata ang nakapag restroom eh. Si hubby sa sobrang uncomfortable sa flight hindi nakapagrestroom during the 12-hour trip (Taipei to LAX).

So when we arrived at LAX, sobrang dugyot and mukhang harassed kami ni hubby. Yun bang feeling na super lagkit and baho na. Ang first thing talaga na nasa isip namin ni hubby that time is to have a good bath.

Super stressful pala talaga if you have twins. Pero at least we survived. Hahaha...

Interest Charges REVERSED!

Before our US trip, I settled all our credit card bills para wala na akong iisipin na bayarin. So those credit cards without statement of account (SOA), I called their hotline to know the payment amount due and paid it immediately.

All the while I thought everything is okay already until the day I went back to the office after our vacation. There are a lot of mails in my desk. I opened them one by one until I came across my Standard Chartered Credit Card SOA.

To my surprise, the payment amount due said by the voice prompt during my phone inquiry differs from the SOA. Nawindang talaga ako because I know that I'll incur interest charges which I am allergic at, that is 3.5% interest per month ha which is 42% interest per annum. So I immediately called the bank's hotline and inquired how much the interest is, explained the reason why the amount was not paid and requested for the complete reversal.

I explained to them that I want to settle my credit card bill before I go to the US. And since I have not yet received the SOA, I just inquired through their hotline the payment amount due. And yes, I'm aware that there is a transaction that is not yet paid but I thought that it is still floating since what was said in the voice prompt is just a partial amount. Masunurin lang naman ako so I paid the amount that was said by the voice prompt. I even told them to trace my credit card history that I never failed to pay my bills. In fact, I pay my bills in full and in advance (kasi nga takot ako sa utang). Aside from that, I told the agent that I'll pay the unpaid amount immediately that day to prove them that I'm in good faith when I setttled my credit card bill last month.

After my explanation and request, the call center agent told me that she noted that I'll pay that day. She even instructed me to pay in cash in Standard Chartered Bank so that the payment will be posted within 24 hours. She then told me to call the following day to request for the reversal and informed me that there is no assurance that my request will be granted.

The following day, I requested for complete reversal of the interest. At first, the call center agent told me that he cannot grant my request. I protested because that is the first time it happened to me and I'm not an irresponsible credit card holder. So he let me on hold again. Then again, he said that the interest cannot be reversed since the system won't allow him to. Siyempre, I didn't agree. I told him na masama sa loob ko na magbayad ng interest since I know that I'm a responsible person and in the first place may fault din sila na misleading yung voice prompt nila (FYI: At Standard Chartered Bank, you should make separate inquiries for outstanding balances of the principal and supplementary card). I told them that I have other credit cards with supplementary also that when I inquire about my payment amount due, the whole payment amount due is given to me unlike theirs. I even told him na may higher person/authority (whatever you call them) na pwede magreverse ng payment sa system. "Alam ko yan, impossibleng walang pwedeng makagawa niyan. We have a systems development company", I told the call center agent.

He let me on hold again...After a few seconds, he told me that he already addressed my concern and forwarded it to the higher person. He told me to call after 3 to 5 banking days to know the status of my request.

After 3 days, I called again their hotline. And good news, they reversed the interest that they charged me. So thank you Standard Chartered Bank kahit pinahirapan niyo ako ng bonggang bongga. =)

Lesson I learned: Since I know how much I owe the credit card company (I'm so OC that I list all my credit card purchases), I will pay it all even if some transactions are still floating to prevent this kind of problem.

Nakapanghihinayang

Have you experienced buying things on their regular price and then the following day you'll see that they are already on sale? Nakakapanghinayang di ba?

It was just last Saturday when I went to Landmark to buy prizes and materials for our company outing's teambuilding activity. I was so happy then because I found cutie and usable items which I think our staff would like. Then, just this afternoon when I came back to Landmark to buy bread, ang bumungad sa face ko sa entrance ay napakalaking streamer na "Sale! Up to 50% off on Selected Items from May 31 to June 3, 2012."

Nakakaloka di ba? Hinayang na hinayang ako talaga. All the items I bought last Saturday are 10% off kasi.

Excited for Boracay

Our company outing will be today. We'll be leaving for Boracay this afternoon. It will be a long travel since we are going to ride a ship instead of an airplane. Ang dami kasi namin eh. We are like 140 plus. Oh di ba ang saya? The more the merrier sabi nga nila. =)

I'm very excited since I'll be bringing with me my kulilits and hubby. Vacation na naman kami for 4 days and mega bonding na naman kami.

It will be my twins' first time to swim in the beach. Galing kasi sila sa sakit when we were in Miami eh. And the beach in Miami is not that nice din kaya hindi enticing magswim. Sana nga lang walang mga lumot this time.

So adios! I'll be busy preparing for today's trip kasi and I'll be going to the grocery to buy some bread for the whole company's baon.

Mama G's Laughtrip: Scooby-Doo

My mom never fails in making us laugh talaga. Walang kupas kung baga.

During our road trip in US...

Mama G: Ano ba yan?
Me: Nickelodeon something
Mama G: Ah. Eh yung Scoopy-Doo, asan na? Type din ba niya?
Me and my brothers: (singing) Scoopy Scoopy-Doo, where are you? (then laughed)
Mama G: Bakit, ano ba dapat?
Me: Scooby-Doo ma. Pinaghalo mo naman si Snoopy and Scooby-Doo eh
Mama G: Ah (laughing also)

Twins for Delivery

GRABE! That's the word that I can say sa sobrang kulit and likot ng twins ko. Imagine, they are only 1 year and 4 months old. What more if they are in their terrible two's already. Goodluck to us!

I just want to share you some pictures of my twins when we were in Carson, California. This is the time when we are already packing up for our flight to Dallas, Texas. Ang dalawa, they like to go inside the balikbayan box and ayaw umalis.

Drive-in Movie Theater

Before, I only see drive-in movie theaters in movies. Now, I already experienced watching in it at Galaxy Drive-In Theater at Ennis, Texas.

All the while, I thought that these drive-in movie theaters exist only before (meaning: bata pa ako or hindi pa ako pinapanganak). Yun pala they still do exist! Kaya when my brother told us about it, my reaction is "Mayroon pa pala nun!".

Eto ang aking perception sa drive-in movie theaters before:

We watched a back to back movie there. The movies are "The Avengers" and "21st Jump Street". But...But...But...we didn't finish watching "21st Jump Street". I will not just go into details. Bad experience kasi eh.

The entrance of Galaxy Drive-In looks like this:

Di ba, it's like a regular movie house na maraming theaters? The difference lang is outdoor siya and pwede ka manood inside the car.

And siyempre, I took photos of our experience.

Outside the car

While watching in the car

Other drive-in cinema theaters at Galaxy

We watched inside the car kasi super lamig outside.

So that's it! Thanks to my litter brother, Ramon Jr., for this experience!

Busy Bee

Hi guys! Today, I'll be super busy like a bee. I still have to prepare for our company outing. This Thursday na yun!!!

I still have to finalize the list of attendees. Matagal ng prepared yun...but...a big BUT...may mga issues kasi...haaaysssttt...nakakainis talaga if there are some aberyas like this. Gusto mo ng matapos para makamove on na pero bandang huli preparation to the last minute pa rin.

Next is the bus. Believe it or not, wala pa rin kaming bus. Before I went to US, nakausap na namin ang DLTB & Co. Finalization na lang of contract ang kailangan eh. Then malaman laman ko nung pinapafollow-up ko na yung contract, nag-iba na ang may handle. Ayun, pinaikot ikot ang HR assistant namin. Nandun na yung kailangan bumalik ulit dun. Pero walang nangyari. 2x nang-indian yung person-in-charge. First, nung pumunta ulit yung mga staff sa DLTB & Co. Next is yung nagcommit na pupunta na lang sa office. Kaya ayun, pinatawag and pinagocular ko sa ALPS yung HR assistant namin. Sa ALPS, ok kausap and they are very prompt. Yun nga lang, they are more expensive by P2k per bus (3 ang bus namin) and ayaw nila magpawithhold ng tax. I mentioned the issue to my dad (my boss). He instructed us to try again DLTB & Co. Finally, nakausap na namin yung real person-in-charge. Yun nga lang, today pa raw bibigay yung contract. Oh di ba last minute din?

In the afternoon, our contact person from 2Go will go to the office to deliver the ferry tickets. I'm sure medyo magulo yun since he prepared the tickets based on my initial list. Wala pa dun yun mga cancellation, replacements and additional passengers. So he needs to go back tomorrow for the other tickets.

We have a committee meeting also in the afternoon.

Also, I have to prepare a request for budget. May mga cash payments pa kasi like the terminal fees, boat ride, multicab, contingency, etc.

O siya, I have to work na. I still have 5 minutes to prepare for work.

Pineapples and Garlic for Doc Padu

I'm really glad that patients of my hubby appreciate him. This is one indicator that his patients are delighted with his service and of course that my hubby is a good doctor.

One of his patients gave him a bunch of native garlics:

Native Garlics
Yay! May panakot na kami sa aswang. Joke! May pang sinangag (garlic fried rice) na kami... Don't you know guys that native garlics are best used in cooking garlic fried rice?

Another patient gave him two pineapples.

Imagine, my hubby just came back to his clinic after a month long vacation and yet his patients never forget him.

To my hubby...Kahit paulit ulit kong sabihin ito sa iyo...I'm very very proud of you! I love you!

I'm BACK!!!

Hi guys! I'm back...

"Manila...Manila...I keep coming back to Manila..."

I can relate to the song "Manila" talaga. Naks! Pero promise, totoo yan. Sabi ko sa sarili ko, I will never leave my home country. I can go to different countries pero for tour lang. Mas masarap and masaya yata ang buhay dito sa Pilipinas.

Anyway, I'm so loaded of kwentos that I don't know how to start kaya abang abang na lang kayo guys. =)

Sorry

Hi guys! I'm so sorry for the lack of post nowadays. I'm currently in the US and I didn't bring any laptop with me. I only brought my iPad which wouldn't allow me to upload any photos in my blog. Boring naman di ba if all you can see in my blogs are only texts. Aside from that, I'm looking after my kulilits. Lam mo na, walang yaya sa states. Grabe, they are so handful na, considering that they are only 1 year old. What more if they are already in their terrible two's.... Goodluck to me!

Don't you worry...I have a lot of stories to tell you about our US trip. See yah!

2Go Cruise Ship Going to Boracay: A Photoblog

Last Tuesday, we went to Batangas Pier to check on the ship that we are going to ride going to Boracay.

Here is the Terminal where the passengers will pass through before boarding the ship.

Inside the pier. Ang linis no? It is very much different from the pier in Manila.

And now, meet CF1 (Cebu Ferry 1)...

Mama G's Laughtrip: Praps

One Saturday afternoon at SM Southmall, my mom and I went to Starbucks to claim her HSBC rewards.

Me: Ma, ano order mo?
Mama G: Praps
Me: Ha?
Mama G: Praps
Me: Ano nga yun?
Mama G: Yung lagi kong inoorder, praps. Ayun oh (pointing to the menu board)
Me: Ah frap... LOL!
Mama G: Praps nga! Bakit ba?
Me: Ma, may ibloblog na naman ako. LOL!
Mama G: Sira ka talaga. LOL!

Kaya tuloy yung barista tinanong ako: "Ma'am bakit sobrang saya niyo?"

My mom talaga oh, she never fails to make us happy sa lakas ng sense of humor niya.

Thanks Papa G!

The twins are very lucky. They are loved by everyone - especially their grandparents. Super spoiled sila, lahat halos ng ituro binibili.

You want a proof?

Ang dad ko super kuripot niyan, pero pagdating sa kanyang mga apo all out. Kaya last weekend, all their shopping loots are sponsored by him...

Twins' shopping loots

Thanks Papa G for the twins' new sandals, slippers and shades!

Dinner at The Old Spaghetti House

This is a continuation of our weekend escapades...

We ate dinner at The Old Spaghetti House after going around Paseo de Sta. Rosa. We were suppose to eat at Kanin Club but hubby decided to go Italian this time.

We ordered drinks first because we are already very thirsty. We had their house blend iced tea. Well, I liked the taste. It is somewhat orangy. The price is ok considering it is refillable.

House Blend Iced Tea, Php 65.00

For our appetizer, we got their appetizer basket. It is a mix of chicken fingers, calamares and onion rings.

Appetizer Basket, Php 210.00

For the main course, I ordered their lasagna.

Classic Lasagna, Php 165.00

While hubby ordered their seafood marinara.

Seafood Marinara, Php 195.00

and their 5-Cheese pizza.

5-Cheese Pizza, Php 230.00

Well, that's it. That ended our Sunday family lakwatsa.

Sunday Bonding with the Twins

Last Sunday, super hectic ang araw namin. First, we went to Festival mall to attend Church. But before going to Church, since we arrived so early, we strolled around first para maghanap ng new sandals for the boys. Buong Festival mall ata nasuyod namin kahahanap ng sandals. Luckily, nakahanap kami sa Kaboosh.

Next is we went to Sta. Rosa Hospital and Medical Center and dropped hubby there kasi he has to do rounds pa. Then we went to Solenad to stroll. Solenad is a new Ayala establishment in Sta. Rosa near Nuvali.

Rosa. So ayun, go kami doon ng kambal hanggang tumawag na si hubby na finish na raw siya magrounds. Sabi ko kakarating lang namin sa Paseo so I asked him na sumunod na lang.

We went around Paseo de Sta. Rosa. Ang laki na pala ng changes dun. Ang dami ng stores and restaurants compared from the last time I went there. May activity areas na rin in between structures where the kids can run around.

While waiting for hubby, in and out kami sa mga stores.

http://instagr.am/p/Jb4RfXKIPt/

Sakto rin that time kasi may kite flying activity. When we went there, tapos na yung activity pero may konting kites pa na lumilipad. LOL!

Chris pointing at the kite

Amazed Ian

Eto ang pinakalike kong picture ni Ian. Aba, marunong magpose ang bagets ko...

Posing Ian

I took a candid shot of my hubby and twins...

My boys...

Chris, Daddy & Ian

After playing around the field, we went back to Paseo de Sta. Rosa and strolled around again. Then we ate our dinner at The Old Spaghetti house.

How about you? How d0 you spend your Sundays?

Food Discovery: Melona Ice Cream

At the ice cream section of S&R, while looking for Blue Bunny ice cream, I saw a box of green Korean ice cream. Then I overheard a couple saying that it is good. I didn't buy that time since they sell in bulk and I still don't know the taste.

Few days later, while hubby and I are buying some pasalubongs for our US relatives at Puregold Molito, I saw again these green ice cream and I got one for me to taste. Well, I can tell you, if you like Magnolia Melon Milk, you are going to like this either. It really tastes like melon. It is smooth and creamy.

On my way home last Saturday, I craved for Melona Ice Cream so I passed by a Korean grocery at BF Homes Paranaque to try my luck. Yeba! There are a lot of Korean Ice Creams and I saw Melona. I bought few and gave my mom and brother for them to try also.

Melona Ice Cream, Php 25.00
My second stick...

The ice cream

Next time I'll try to hoard some para may stock na ako sa fridge.

"Doctor Always Late" No More!

I always tease my husband by calling him "Doctor Always Late". He is always late kasi whenever he is not with me. Bakit kamo?

Me:         Bakit po?

So after that incident, kinausap ko ng masinsinan si hubby. I told him na he really needs to change his work habits. Hindi na pwepwede yung wala siyang value sa time because he is just starting his career and building his name. I even told him about our twins' pediatrician. Before kasi he has clinic sa Asian Hospital. He chose to close na lang his clinic there and just settle at Makati Medical Center and St. Lukes Global City because he always arrives late. Sabi nga niya sa akin "Its better that I lose this clinic rather than I lose my patients."

So far, so good. Hindi na siya nalalate ngayon. I see to it kasi na sabay kami aalis ng house para wala siyang takas. Hehehe. Kahit siya natutuwa siya sa changes kasi he is more productive, efficient and mas maaga siya nakakauwi. Aside from that, wala yung pressure or ngarag feeling. I just hope na magtuloy tuloy na ito and maging part na ng system niya.

Food Discovery: Royal Dansk Vanilla & Chocolate Wafer Sticks

One of my favorite snacks is wafer sticks. During my dalaga days, I used to buy different flavors of Stick-Os - chocolate, vanilla and strawberry.

At the S&R sale, I saw cans of Royal Dansk Vanilla & Cholate Wafer Sticks. From P170.00, the price is marked down to P120.00.

I immediately got the two flavors to try kasi mukhang masarap and maganda rin itong snacks for my twins.

Di nga ako nagkamali, masarap talaga siya. Crunchy yung wafers. Hindi siya yung nadudurog kaagad. And yung fillings niya hindi tinipid. Naubos nga kaagad eh, the can of vanilla flavored wafer sticks just lasted for two days.

Grocery with the Twins (A Late Post)

Bringing my twins around with me catches a lot of attention. The usual question that strangers ask me is "Twins?". Wala talagang araw na hindi matatanong ang question na yan if they are with me.

During the sale at S&R few weeks ago, I brought my twins with me. As usual, naging center of attraction na naman sila. Iba iba ang comments that time, may nakakatuwa, nakakaproud, weird and offensive.

Comment #1: Deadma Lang...Di Naman ako Nakikipagcompete eh.

Stranger: Ay, twins. Twins sila?
Me: Opo
Stranger: Sa akin naman triplets. (showing his daughters)
Me: Ah, ok.

Comment #2: Very proud momma ako!

Stranger: Kambal sila?
Me: Opo
Stranger: Ang cucute ha. Nakaktuwa. Ang popogi.
Me: Thank you po.
Me: Ok po.
Stranger: Oh tignan niyo oh, kambal, ang popogi.
Me: Babies, say hi. Flying kiss. Wave goodbye.
Stranger: God bless. Bye mga pogi.

Comment#3: I know it right, so don't rub it in my face...

Stranger: Are they yours? (pointing to my twins)
Me: Yes
Stranger: Oh, they don't look like you.
Me: Ah, they look like their dad. (at the back of my mind: oo na no, di ko na kamukha mga anak ko, wag mo na ipagdiinan)

Comment #4: Tamang kulit lang si Lolo

Stranger: Miss, san ba nakakakuha ng ganyan? (Pointing to my twins)

Stranger: Ay twins...Miss, paano ba gumawa ng ganyan?
Me: Di ko alam eh, swerte lang.
Stranger: San ka nakapwesto? Sa taas o sa baba?
Me: (I  just smiled at her and at the back of my mind: "ah ok. di ka naman masyadong bulgar no?")

Forwarded Email: Makati Security Advisory

I just want to share you an email. Whether this is real or not, just be cautious and careful guys...

From nino albano

Dear friends, I just met with a friend who had just emerged from a 9 hour

ordeal. He was kidnapped in the heart of the Makati business district

around noon the other day. he emerged from IPL towers on leviste st.

Salcedo village to go to a lunch meeting in pasong tamo. He decided not to

take his car because parking in makati can be hassle. Talking on the phone

he hopped into the first available cab. Later he realized the cab was

taking a route that was unusual. He called the driver's attention but was

ignored. The cab entered into urban road , the road by urban bank which is

parallel to buendia. It stopped and 3 other men got in. He tried to

struggle but they stabbed his wrist . When he heard the sound of a gun

being cocked , he stopped struggling and gave into all their demands. They

had him withdraw from all four banks accts , took his celphone and palm

pilot and dropped him off in cavite somewhere near trece martires. . He was

able to make it back to makati He reported the incident to the makati

police and was told that it was the third incident in the week. One

happened to a student who got a cab in rockwell , the other to a citibank

female executive who was taking a cab from paseo de roxas to glorietta but

ended up in cavite. the cabs were stolen. Targets are students, employees

and executives . Please warn your friends to be careful . The best way to

take a taxi would be in the queues where they hand a pc of paper with all

the taxi info or just call for one reputable taxi .

Please take care everyone.*

Bonifacio High Street and Free Doughnuts

As I have mentioned in my blog  "One Black Saturday at Makati Parks", we went to Bonifacio High Street (BHS) after we went to the park. Wala talagang kapagod pagod ang mga Padusters.

When we arrived at BHS, ang hirap magpark. So on the way to the other wing, we passed by Krispy Kreme and I noticed that their red light "Hot Doughnuts Now" is on. I immediately told hubby that I'll go down so that we can have free doughnuts (FYI: If that red light is on, they give away free original glazed doughnuts). My mom, Jenny, Mary Rose and I went out the car to get some free doughnuts.

After getting some free doughnuts, Mama G claimed some free drinks from Starbucks (HSBC promo naman ito). Ok na combination di ba - Free doughnuts and Free Coffee?

Naglakad lakad lang kami sandali after to look for new sandals for the twins (bibili raw kasi sila ni Papa G). Kaso, wala akong type. Very limited ang design. Meron ako nagustuhan kaso di naman sandals. I liked the high cut Converse and Little Toms. Soon I'll buy them pag medyo malaki na ang boys para hindi naman sayang.

We tried also Mothercare, kaso wala din maganda na sandals. Yun na lang ang binili niya for the boys to be used in our trip to US.

So that's it. That ended our Black Saturday. We didn't stay that long at BHS because Mama G felt sick already.

Our Future Home

Our first investment as husband and wife is a condominium unit at Makati. We got it on a pre-selling stage way back 2008.

We visited the site this month to check on the progress of the construction. It's almost up. By the way, the target date of turnover will be at the end of this year and we are very excited.

Here are some pictures taken by my hubby:
