Adventures in Taipei: Day 2

We did not avail of any tour package in Taiwan. Ready kami to explore it on our own since maganda naman ang kanilang transpor system. Honestly, we don't have any itinerary at all. Basta ang usapan namin, we'll just get a tourist map at the airport and from there dun na lang kami magpaplan where to go. Ang important lang is dapat mapuntahan namin ang Taipei 101 and makakain sa The Modern Toilet.

So what happened on our day 2?

We woke up at around 9:00am already since puyat the night before. We ate first our breakfast at the hotel before we took our bath. That morning, since Ai needs to answer some work-related emails, we went first to a Canon service center to have my DSLR repaired. Super butter finger kasi ako nung gabi eh, sa sobrang pagod ata, kaya nabagsak ko yung camera. Buti na lang yung filter lang ang nabasag hindi yung lens kundi mababawasan ng todo todo ang shopping money namin.

When we went back to the hotel, it is nearly lunch time na kaya niyaya na namin sila Kuya Bimbo to eat lunch at a nearby restaurant. Ang style ng resto na yun is parang carinderia lang. Turo turo kung baga. Super daming choices dun and maraming locals na kumakain. Mura na kasi at masarap pa.

Here is hubby's lunch...

and my lunch...

Look at our table. Ang cute right?

On our way back to the hotel, we saw this coffee shop and hubby had some coffee. What is good about this coffee shop is that they roast their coffee bean on the spot.

The staff showed us how their coffee roaster works.

We basically used Taipei's MRT as our mode of transportation there. Very efficient, promise!

Photo-op with hubby inside the MRT station...

We took picture also inside the train...

What is noticeable in Taipei is that they practice courtesy in using the escalator. People stay at the right side to give way to passengers who are in  a hurry.

A random architecture that we saw on our way to the Martyr's Shrine.

We saw some albino ampalaya. Ang kulit no? I wonder how it tastes...

Dazhi High School. Ang laki no? Parang College na sa atin.

Taipei's airforce...

Nangungulit lang...

Taipei's Navy. Actually, nasita kami dito. Bawal daw magtake ng pictures. Hehehe.

Finally, after a long walk, we reached our destination - Martyr's Shrine...

Here are some of the photos of what you can see inside the Martyr's Shrine. I wasn't able to enter it since I'm wearing a Fitflop. Bawal kasi ang slippers sa loob eh.

In going back the Dazhi MRT Station, tinamad na kaming maglakad kaya we rode the bus na.

Hubby's kulit pose inside the bus.

Our next stop is the Maokong Gondola. It is basically a cable car. The travel hour for a round trip is about an hour.

We rode the crystal cabin. Cool no?

At the last station, Maokong Station, there are a lot of tea house and food stalls.

We had some corn dogs and this drink which looks like frog eggs.

A souvenir shot at the Maokong Station...

After the Maokong Gondola, we went to Taipei 101.

Souvenir photo inside the Taipei 101 mall. Ang sarap magshopping dito kung marami kang pera. Hehehe. High-end kasi eh, so puro signature ang tinda.

We went to the observatory and here is a souvenir photo with one of the baby damper...

A city view from the observatory...

We walked to a nearby mall to take a somewhat nice photo of Taipei 101...

After Taipei 101, we are in search of souvenir items so we went to the nearby night market. Unfortunately, wala kaming nakitang mga souvenir items kasi puro damit, shoes and bags ang tinda. Pero we spotted an ihaw ihaw stall and we tried their squid.

The squid on the grill...

The finished product... It is so yummy!!!

Then we looked for a place to eat dinner. And siyempre, noodles na naman. Hehehe.

That ended our day 2. Nakakapagod di ba? Sulit ang kain sa dami ng nilakad namin.
