We Go for Globe Tattoo DSL

My hubby had the final decision in choosing our internet provider. Based on the reviews that he read, the best internet would still be DSL. So we have to choose between PLDT or Globe. Globe is very much cheaper than PLDT so we go for Globe Tattoo DSL.

For only P1,099.00 we can have upto 1Mbps internet and a landline. Pwede na di ba? I'm not planning to get landline sana but additional P100.00 lang may landline na kaya we decided to get it. Unlike sa PLDT, additional P700.00 on top of the high speed DSL P1,200.00 fee.

So the other day, we applied online. Then the following day may feedback na. Ang bilis no? Bigla tuloy ako natuwa sa Globe. This Saturday na nga sana ang installation kaso may work pa ako. So I asked my hubby to call Globe and resched it na lang on Monday.

Yipee! Magkakainternet connection na kami sa house. Sana di ako mabigo ng Globe. =)

The Kulilits in Boracay

My kulilit's first beach experienec is at Miami, Florida but they weren't able to swim there. Galing kasi sila sa sakit that time. What I just did is that I had them feel the sand. They were scared at first. Maybe because parang lumulubog sila siguro every time they step on the sand. Kaya bandang huli nagpakarga na lang sila.

In Boracay, nakakatawa yung initial reaction nila. Parang nandidiri umapak sa sand. Alam mo yun, yung step nila hindi maintindihan kung tatapak ba sila or hindi. Pero bandang huli ok na sila since we brought some beach toys. Nalibang naman yung mga kulilits. They enjoyed playhing with the sand.

I didn't make them swim at the beach. I'm scared baka they might get E. Coli. Nakakaparanoid kasi eh. Mahirap na. Minsan nga pagnakakasakit yung dalawa, winiwish ko na sana ako na lang ang may sakit eh. So nagphoto-op na lang sila para may remembrance sa Boracay.

Pero para hindi masayang ang mga swimming attires ng mga kulilits, nagswim na lang sila sa kiddie pool ng La Carmela de Boracay. At least dun, medyo safe sila kasi solo nila yung pool.

Ang cute ng floater trunks ng mga kulilits no? Their Mama G bought that for them. She knows kasi that they love swimming. Kaso nga lang, kailangan pa ng alalay since di pa nila kaya icontrol yung floater trunks nila.

That's my kulilit's adventure in Boracay. Hopefully kapag nagbeach kami ulit makapagswim na sila.

My name is Francis Gabriel Elayda Academia, 6 years old, full of life and energy. If you see me on the play ground, you’ll think I’m like any other healthy little boy. As you look closer, you’ll notice that unlike other children my age I don’t speak a word and all you can hear is laughter and a lot of strange noises. This is where you find out after asking around that I don’t speak a single word because I’m hearing impaired. To tell you more about me, I was diagnosed with bilateral sensory neural hearing loss when I was one. My mother on a shoestring budget got me the cheapest hearing aid in the market after 3 months from the time a doctor asked her to get me a pair. That hearing aid for my right ear was all we could afford when it should have been for both. At age 3, my mother enrolled me at a special school for the hearing impaired. Since I was behind all my classmates, my teacher has recommended that I first undergo one-on-one speech therapy with a speech pathologist and behavioral modification with an occupational therapist before I can rejoin the group. In spite of getting another hearing aid for my other ear, I had little progress which prompted my therapist to recommend a cochlear implant and high powered hearing aid. This is really impossible at the moment because of the financial obligation we are facing. Because of this, I’m knocking on your door for help. I hope you can lend me a helping hand in this endeavor so I can hear and in the future utter my first word.





Gabriel Elayda is the son of my bestfriend Monica Elayda. He'll be undergoing a cochlear implant this September. He'll be needing more than a million Pesos for the procedure so his relatives organized a fund raising activity (Raffle) for him.

What Happened to You My Dear Boracay?

I'm really saddened to what is happening right now to Boracay. During the first week of June we were there for our company outing and I was shocked to see its present condition. It looks completely different as compared to what it looks like the first time I visited the beach in 1990's .

There are a lot of algae in the water. They look so scary to me. I remembered Chuvaness' post here http://chuvaness.com/7439/kids-moms/e-coli-more-fun-in-boracay/. That's why I didn't allow my kulilits to swim in the beach.

I hope the government will do something about Boracay. Sayang kasi. Sana maibalik yung dating beauty niya which made it popular around the world. Sana maging ganito ulit ang Boracay...

Rally in US

When we went to Austin, Texas, we witnessed a rally infront of the Texas Capitol. It is about women's right. The rally is very peaceful unlike here in the Philippines.

The rally ended at around 5:00pm. Ang galing nga eh, they have a schedule. This is an experience for us. At least we already have an idea how rally abroad looks like. =)

On Internet Connection

It is my last week of work this week. I will now be a full-time mom to my two kulilits and a full-time housewife to my hubby.

In order for me not to be bored at home, hubby and I decided to have an internet connection at home. The question now is which one to get?

I inquired about PLDT MyDSL already but we need to have a landline first. I have no plans on getting a landline since I already have a cellphone.

What do you recommend guys? Smart Bro Wimax, Globe, Sun Cellular or Wi-Tribe?

Please help us decide. =)

Food Trip: Barney's Beanery

At Sta. Monica Promenade, we ate at Barney's Beanery. According to our cousins, this restaurant is famous for their chilis.

When we went there, there are no available seats. We waited for about 30 minutes to be seated.

There is an arcade also. The game is Galaga. This game is an epic! I remembered playing this using a family computer. LOL! My son, Ian, tried playing it.

Knowing that they have big servings, my hubby and I ordered Quesadilla and their Classic All Meat Chili.

Their Quesadilla comes with a chili, guacamole and sour cream. This one is good for a light dinner.

Their Classic All Meat Chili is a real winner! It has a mozarella cheese on top and a beef burger patty under the chili. I can't explain the taste. But I can say that it is very addicting. I love the blend of the flavors and the thickness of the chili.

True enough that they serve good chili. So far, they are the best that I have tasted.

L.A. Escapades 2012

We only have 5 days and 4 nights to tour around L.A and we found it bitin. Ang dami namin hindi napuntahan. Di bale, there is always next time naman. =)

Day 1: Arrival in L.A.

As I have said in my earlier post, sobrang nakakastress ang trip namin in going to L.A. Kasama kasi namin yung mga kulilits. Pero ok lang at least we experienced travelling with our boys and it served as our bonding moment.

When we arrived at L.A., we went kaagad to Carson where our Ninang/Tita lives. We rested lang on Day 1 and made chikka with our relatives. My cousin, Ate Tin, from Ontario also visited us there.

Day 2:  Disneyland

On day 2, walang jetlag jetlag, we went to Disneyland kaagad. Siyempre, hindi ka nakarating sa U.S. if you didn't visit the original Disneyland in Anaheim. We went there with our nieces, nephew, cousins and our Ninang/Tita Vey. We had our lunch at The Rainforest Cafe. Niride lang namin yung mga well-recommended rides since we only have 1 day for Disneyland.

After our Disneyland trip, we headed back to Carson because Uncle Bob prepared a sumptuous dinner for us.

Day 3: Hollywood

On day 3, we went around Hollywood.

First, we strolled at the walk of fame where we took photos of men in costumes for a tip.

Our next stop is the Ripley's Believe It  or Not Museum.

We had lunch at Mels Drive-In. Too bad I forgot to take pictures of what we ate. I ordered their chicken pot pie while my hubby ordered their burger.

After lunch, we went to the Guiness Museum.

For our last stop, we went to the Wax Museum.

We were suppose to go to the Universal Studios after Hollywood but time did not permit us. So we just went for a sightseeing at Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive.

Day 4: Sta. Monica Pier

On Day 4, we just stayed in the house in the morning since our Lola was there to visit and cook lunch for us. We had mechado for lunch.

After lunch, our cousins, Kuya Jobet and Jaime picked us up so we could go to Sta. Monica Pier. We passed by Cold Stone Creamery first to get some ice cream so that we have something to eat on our way to Sta. Monica Pier.

We had our pm snacks at the Town Dogs hotdog stand.

After strolling around the pier, we went to Sta. Monica Promenade to look for a restaurant to eat dinner.

We ate at Barney's Beanery. Sarap ng chili nila dito promise! (I have a separate blog post for this.)

Day 5: Flight to Texas

We just stayed at home on our last day to to all the packing. Flight na kasi namin to Texas in the afternoon.

That's it! Hectic ang schedule namin no? Super pagod pero we really enjoyed our stay there.

Overnight Stay at Edsa Shangri-La Hotel

Last Tuesday, we stayed at Edsa Shangri-la Hotel for a night because my hubby was invited to attend a product launch of a certain pharmaceutical company. Perk yan of being a doctor. Sarap no? Kahit man lang sa mga ganito makabawi. Ang mahal yata ng pagdodoctor. LOL!

Anyway, here are the pictures I took during our stay:

The following day, we ate breakfast at the HEAT Restaurant. I was amazed to the food choices. Ang dami naman kasi. Parang hindi pangbreakfast. Sobrang temptation for me since I'm trying to eat only veggies and fruits. Ang una ba naman kasing bubungad sa iyo are the assorted dimsum and dumplings. Haaayssst... Bakit nga ba ang sarap talaga kumain? Pero buti na lang malakas ang fighting spirit ko. I only ate assorted veggies for breakfast and had taho for dessert.

Another Haircut for My Babies

Last Sunday, after lunch, we went to Tabb's Barber Shop at the basement of Alabang Town Center for our kulilits' haircut.

Here is Chris. He is well-behaved habang ginugupitan ng hair. Tuwang tuwa sa kanya yung barber. I like his barber here kasi mabait and friendly. Mukhang mahilig sa bata.

Here is Ian. Nakakainis, hindi man lang binigyan ng chance paupuin sa barber seat. Pinakalong kaagad kay hubby. Pero you can see behave din si Ian, hindi siya pumipiglas. Unlike sa barber ni Chris, di ko type ang barber ni Ian dito. Antipatiko eh!

Nakakatuwa yung mga kulilits ko no? Hindi sila takot sa barber and behave sila considering they are only 1 year old. I'm very proud of them! =)
