Kulilits' 2013 Halloween Costume

Finally, I'm done with the Kulilits' Halloween costumes!!!

Here they are...

If you look at their costumes, they look simple. But still, it took me hours to finish them. =)

So tonight, we are ready to go trick or treating!!!

Finger Painting with the Kulilits

One Saturday, the Kulilits finger painted. It was their first time to finger paint. At first they were hesitant to touch the paint because their hands will be dirty. I told them that it's okay for their hands to be dirty because it's just finger paint. So they started to touch the paint and enjoyed the activity.

Here are their pictures during their finger painting activity...

Ian was the one who really enjoyed finger painting...

Because Chris is the neat freak kind of guy...

In the end, Ian started to put paint all over his face...

Finger painting is such a fun activity! We will finger paint again soon...

Food Trip: Wee Nam Kee Hainanese Chicken Rice

Last week, hubby is not that toxic because he has no in-patients. Financially, that's bad for us. You know, for doctors, no patient means no money. Huhu! =( Looking on the bright side, he will have more time for us which I like. Remember my quote before? No money but happy!

Since it's been a while since the last time we ate out, I asked him if he wants to go out for dinner. Knowing hubby, he immediately said YES. Initially, I'm craving for Crunchy Kani Maki of Kenji Tei Ramen House. But I remembered that we haven't tried eating at Wee Nam Kee, so we just ate there instead.

We ordered the following:

Small Roasted Regular Chicken...

P248.00

This is yummy. In fact, hubby liked this better than the steamed chicken. Maybe because it is tastier and it has crunchy skin.

Small Steamed Yellow Chicken...

P388.00

For the steamed chicken, we tried the yellow chicken because they said that it is tastier than the regular chicken and it is imported from Singapore. It is actually more expensive than the regular chicken.

I liked their steamed chicken specially when you put these sauces...

I like the combination of minced ginger and sweet soy sauce (I'm not sure what it is called). According to hubby, these sauces makes the steamed chicken flavorful.

Sizzling Hot Plate Tofu...

P285.00

I ordered this because they indicated in the menu that it's a chef's recommendation and I love tofu. It is supposed to be spicy but I requested it to be mild so that the Kulilits would be able to eat it.

Honestly, I didn't like this. I just got one serving and hubby ate the rest of it. The taste is too bland and ordinary for me. I like Max's sizzling tofu better than this one.

Wee Nam Kee Fried Rice...

P190.00

Two thumbs up for their fried rice! Very delicious and flavorful. You can actually eat the fried rice as is. And guess what? Even the Kulilits liked it. I think Chris had 3 servings while Ian had 2.

We also ordered 2 cups of Wee Nam Kee Chicken Rice (P40.00 each). I actually ordered plain rice so that I could know the real taste of their steamed chicken but they don't have one. For the taste of their chicken rice, it's yummy but it's not actually healthy. Just imagine chicken drippings that are mixed in the rice. Cholesterol overload! Hehe.

3 Flavor Chocolate Truffle Buchi (White, Dark & Milk Chocolate)...

P88.00

Oooopppsss... Sorry about the picture! I totally forgot to take a picture of it when it was served to us. Hehe!

I didn't actually know that this a chocolate truffle buchi. I just saw the picture and thought it is just a regular buchi that's why I ordered it. I tasted each flavor and what flavor do you think I liked most? Of course, the white chocolate. Hehe.

For our drink, hubby and I ordered bottomless lime juice which is P90.00 per order.

Overall, we liked our dining experience here. In general, the food that we ordered were delicious and served hot. Their staff were very attentive. They kept on refilling our drinks and were kind enough to ask us if we still need something else. Lastly, for the price, I think it's a little bit pricey. But I think it's okay because hubby and I were satisfied. =)

Kulilits Moments: Silly Answers

Scenario 1: Christmas Decors

Last Saturday, after the Christmas decors were installed, Mama G asked the Kulilits a question...

Mama G: Is my house beautiful already?
Ian: No! It's dirty!

Well, Ian is actually right. Mama G's house is still a mess that time because the decorators haven't finished packing up. Hehe.

Scenario 2: Birthday

While having a question and answer portion with Chris...

Me: What's your name?
Chris: Mathe Ryan Christopher Garcia Padua
Me: What's the name of your daddy?
Chris: Doc Padu
Me: What's the name of your mommy?
Chris: Cheryll
Me: How old are you?
Chris: Two
Me: When is your birthday?
Chris (frivolously): to you...

Chris told that in the tune of "Happy Birthday". Hehe!

Scenario 3: Achoo!

While feeding Chris, he suddenly chocked...

Me: See! You chocked again! I told you to chew well your food before swallowing it.
Chris (pretending to sneeze): A-CHEW!!!

Good sense of humor right? I think Chris got it from Mama G. Hehe!

Homeschooling the Kulilits: 3rd Week

Each day seems to be so fast. Can you imagine that we are now in our fourth week of homeschooling?

On our 3rd week, we studied how Abraham was blessed by God, Letter C, Number 3, simple table setting, trusting God and many more.

Here are some of the activities we did for the week:

For letter recognition...

For counting...

For their counting book...

We made small tents...

Well, that's it for the week! =)

Kulilits' Favorites: Chilled Taho

Another favorite snack of the Kulilits is chilled taho. They super love it and when they are in the mood to eat one, each of them can eat a large serving of it.

We normally buy chilled taho at Soy Yummy at SM Southmall. A large chilled taho is priced at P55.00 each. Or sometimes, we buy also at Sinangag Express (SEX). They only have one size and priced at P25.00 each.

Taho is a very healthy snack and I'm very happy because the Kulilits eat them. =)

Last Friday, Mama G got us some pasalubong from Divisoria and here they are:

Some anik anik for the Kulilits' Croc-Corocococ...

Special skinless longanisa for Doc Padu (just imagine his big smile when he saw this)...

and lots of calamansi juice drink...

Thanks Mama G for always remembering us!!! Mwah! Mwah!

Mrs. Fields Treats from Standard Chartered Bank

At last! We already claimed some of our free Mrs. Fields Treats from Standard Chartered Bank.

Here they are...

Assorted brownies and mini cookies. Yum! Yum!

Since these are too sweet for me, these treats will just be for hubby and the Kulilits. Hehe. =)

A Real Family Sunday: Kiddie Party + Manila Zoo + Early Dinner

This Sunday is kinda' different. It's kinda' special for me since it only happens once in a blue moon. You know why? Hubby has only one in-patient who is already stable that's why hubby, I and the Kulilits had a whole day of bonding today.

We went first to the 7th birthday of Mai Mai, daughter of hubby's med school barkada, at Wheatberry in Quezon City.

After the birthday party, we went to Manila Zoo since the Kulilits keep on asking us to bring them to a zoo.

Here are the fees in Manila Zoo...

So cheap right? In fact, we were only charged P100.00.

Here is hubby with the Kulilits...

Me and the Kulilits...

We brought the Kulilits' strollers so that we will not be obliged to carry them. Hehe.

Guess what happened after we take these  souvenir photos with the Kulilits? We thought it was raining. But NO! It's not rain... but bird SHIT!!! It seems that birds in Manila Zoo have LBM because bird shit are all around. So this is a warning for you guys. In case you want to go to Manila Zoo, bring an umbrella! Haha!

Here are some of the photos that I took inside Manila Zoo:

A Hippo...

An Elephant...

A big bird (I forgot the name. Hehe!)...

The reptile house...

Philippine Deers...

A crocodile...

Guinea Pigs...

A Bear Cat...

Boat riding...

What did I notice about Manila Zoo today compared XX years ago?

  • Animals are lesser now. There are no more giraffes, tigers, gorilla, etc.
  • Animals are old already.
  • Animals are skinny.
  • Animals does not come in pair anymore.
Well, what do you expect right? The entrance fee is only P40.00. I have no right to complain. But, in fairness, Manila Zoo is clean and it's not that smelly. =)

Aside from that, the P100.00 that we paid is nothing compared to what we got after our trip there: Kulilits' experience, Kulilits' wide smiles, Kulilits' big amazed eyes and family bonding. PRICELESS indeed!

After Manila Zoo, we passed by AZH so that hubby can have a quick visit of his in-patient. I requested him to bring Ian with him so that Ian will have an idea about hubby's job. Then when hubby and Ian went back to the car, Chris told hubby that he is next. He wanted also to go inside the hospital and check his daddy's patient. To be fair, hubby also brought Chris inside the hospital.

Before going home, we decided to eat early dinner at Chicken Deli and I'll tell you more about it soon.

That goes our Sunday! I wish that all our Sundays will be like this. =)

Getting Ready for Halloween =)

For this coming Halloween, I asked the Kulilits what costumes do they want to wear. They told me that they wanted to be a scarecrow.

I really don't know where did they get that idea. Haha! But, it's okay because it's very easy to make one. I just need hay, native hat, long sleeves polo, jeans and some scrap cloth. The first thing that came in my mind for the materials is Tabora St. in Divisoria. But who will go to Divisoria?

Hmmm... Mama G?

Last week, I was losing hope already because I still don't have the materials for the Kulilits' costumes. Then last Friday, it was a good thing that I called up Mama G because she was at Divisoria that time. I asked her if she could go to Tabora to buy the materials that I needed. She told me that she'll try to buy. Since she is a stage grandma, she still managed buy the materials. =)

And now, which Halloween event will we attend?

Most Halloween events are today, October 27. Since we are going attend a birthday party of the daughter of hubby's med school barkada in Quezon City, we won't be able to go to any Halloween events today.

We are just going to attend the Halloween event at Westgate on October 31 and office Halloween event of my MIL on November 1. =)

How about you? Are you ready this Halloween? What Halloween event/s are you going to attend?

Instant Tagaytay Getaway

Few Sundays ago, we had an instant trip to Tagaytay Highlands. We went there because our company owned property was officially turned over to us and at the same time my dad has a visitor from India who we toured around. It's just like killing two birds with one stone. Haha! =)

Here is our souvenir picture with our visitor, Sai, at the Highlands Country Club...

Here is our property at Katsura located at the midlands...

360 degrees view from our property... Wee! It's still overlooking Taal lake...

From the Highlands view deck at the funicular train station, you could see our property...

Come lunch time, we went all the way to Alfonso, Cavite to eat at Sonyas Garden. I super love their salad here. Maybe because of their special dressing and freshly picked home grown veggies. =)

We stayed at the Morning Glory greenhouse-restaurant...

Here's the inside of the restaurant...

They served our first the salad and fresh dalandan juice...

Then the bread with assorted spreads...

For the main course, it's buffet style already unlike before wherein they serve it to your table. But I think you could still request to have it served directly to your table.

Pasta and Salmon Belly...

Sauce for the pasta. Chicken Cream with Mango and Fresh Tomatoes...

Shitake Mushroom and Ratatouille...

Glazed Sweet Potatoes and Banana Rolls w/ Sesame & Jackfruit...

They served a slice of cake for dessert...

and a yummy tarragon tea to end the meal...

After eating, we went to their Panaderia. It's a must to buy bread there. I recommend the Spanish bread and tuna bread. =)

That's our instant Tagaytay Getaway! =)
