Greenhills Shopping Sunday

Yesterday, I went shopping with Mama G at Greenhills. Hahaha! Hindi niya kasi ako mabihisan. Frustration niya yun eh simula pa nung bata ako.

Lam niyo na, excited much! =)

Here were my loots yesterday:

Loose top...

Knitted top...

Camisole...

Loose blouse...

Loose blouse...

Loose blouse...

Palazzo pants...

Maternity undies...

Matching shirts...

Actually, lahat kami (including Mama G, Papa G, my brother and my brother's fiance) meron niyan... Sabay sabay namin isusuot yat para matchy matchy kaming lahat. Hehehe.

3/4 pants for the chikitings...

Book for the chikitings...

Hahaha!

But wait! There are more... Siyempre, may mga food pa kaming take home...

Tuna Pie Trio and Peach Mango Pie to Go...

Hopiang Mongo, Dice Mongo and Mamon...

Aside from that (I forgot to take a picture), Mama G also bought each of the boys a happy meal. Lam niyo na, uso ang Minions eh. So 3 designs down, 7 more to go...

That's it! Hehehe! =)

We Have A Muse!

"Trust in the Lord and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart."

                                                                                                Psalm 37:3-4

Finally, we have a muse!!!

This is the greatest blessing of all kahit unplanned! Haha! Sa wakas, we are going to have a baby girl! May prinsesa na ako! May maynika na ako! At higit sa lahat, may tagapagmana na ako! Hahaha!

But still, I need to confirm di ba? This time around, may pupulupot na sa kanya. Hehehe!

The big question is...

Ipapasara ko na ba ang factory???

Well, hindi ko pa masagot eh! Undecided pa ako. Kung baga 50-50 pa. Mahabang diskusyon pa yan kay hubby eh. Kasi if we decide na magpaligate na ako, there's no turning back na. What if in the future, gusto pa pala namin magkababy di ba? Ayaw ko naman (and hubby too) magpills. Withdrawal? =)

SWAG: Mid-June Blessings

I'm just grateful for the blessings that we are receiving. Though medyo hirap nowadays financially, we are still continually blessed and well-provided by Him. =)

Here are the things that we received in one buhos somewhat mid-June:

One tray of native eggs from Mama G...

Di pa ubos yung last supply namin, meron kaagad kapalit! Hehe!

Some goodies given by different med reps...

Nakakatuwa right? Kahit hindi pasko, ang daming nagbibigay. =)

Shoe Shopping Friday

Yesterday, we went to Robinson's Las Pinas to eat dinner. As usual, we ate for free c/o BPI credit card. Haha! Papa G gave us kasi coupon codes for us to claim eh. Hehe.

Anyway, after dinner, we passed by Payless Shoe Store to look for some comfy walking shoes para sa aming upcoming Japan trip. Medyo mapapalaban kasi kami sa lakaran doon eh. Commute kung commute kasi ang gagawin namin. Hehe.

Here are our finds yesterday:

White walking shoes for me...

This item is on sale. From P1,250.00, P750.00 na lang siya. Super gaan niya, as if wala kang suot na shoes. Hehe! I got white para kahit anong color ng damit, babagayan niya.

Malaboat shoes for hubby...

This is not on sale but Payless has a Father's Day promo for their regular priced items. Kaya from P1,650.00, P1,237.50 na lang siya. Ang gaan din nito and ang lambot sa paa kaya I convinced hubby to get it.

Matchy matchy shoes for the chikitings...

Ang cute di ba? Terning terning ang 3 barako ko. Guess what? These shoes are really a steal! From, P895.00, P447.50 na lang siya for a pair. Ang mura ano? My kiddos, specially the twins, are really happy with their new shoes. They'll use it daw sa Universal Studios in Osaka. May Spiderman kasi doon eh.

So that's it! I'm just happy kasi we got 5 pairs of shoes for P3,330.00 lang. Sobrang sulit!

Have a nice weekend guys!!!

Sakit sa Ulo!

Last Tuesday, we got a new house help from Leyte. My first impression? Mukhang hindi tatagal and aanga anga (sorry, I'm just being honest here). Aside from my first impression, I have an intuition that she only went to Manila not for work but just for the sake to go and see what Manila is considering that she is only 17 years old. I actually made that clear to my mom that I said to her "Ma, ang bata ha, baka naman hindi trabaho ang hanap niyan dito." My mom said "Hindi naman, kailangan ng pera nito."

Anyway, I still got her kasi wala naman akong choice dahil nakapagbigay na ako ng pamasahe. So there, I briefed her on what she'll do. I actually prepared and printed her daily tasks. Detailed talaga yun para she won't miss out a thing and para hindi na rin ako paulit ulit ng instructions. Basically, ang work niya is linis ng buong house (labas at loob), dilig ng halaman, linis ng kotse, hugas ng pinggan, hiwa ng mga ingredients sa panluto and be with us if ever na aalis kami. She agreed naman. Kaya ayun, I bought her na some toiletries and shoes for her uniform.

During her first day, wala naman problema. Then the following days came, dun na nag-umpisa ang mga kasablayan. Actually, my first impression na "aanga anga" is definitely TRUE! Here are some instances:
Merong pang-floor, may panglamesa, may pangfurnitures, may pang dirty kitchen, may pang rice cooker, may pang muta ni Pawie, at iba pa. I briefed her with that and made it clear to her. In fact, nandun naman ako demonstrating to her. Pero wag ka, parati, as in parating nagkakamali!
  • In feeding Pawie. I gave instruction to her kung gaano karami ipapakain kay Pawie. Twice ko inulit sa kanya. The first one is when we were still inside the car and the second one is during the time na papakainin na niya si Pawie.
  • I told her to sweep na the garage. Eh 2x a week ko lang pinasasabon yun and kasasabon lang niya the day before.
  • Sa paglinis ng house, hindi pulido. Ang term namin dun ay "Linis Kiki". Like for example, when I got home from the wet market, I saw our front yard na may poo poo pa ni Pawie and the side yard na marami pang sukal. At marami pang ibang linis kiki!
So ano ginawa ko? Ang paghiwa is waluhan bawat isa. Nung nakita ko naging small cubes. Sabi ko, di ba waluhan? Sagot niya, opo, waluhan nga po. So sabi ko paano naging waluhan eh ang liliit.
Actually, marami pang iba. My mom even called me halos every day and kinakamusta ang bagong house help...

1st day...

Mama G: O, kamusta ang bago mong kasama?
Me: Ok lang, medyo slow lang.
Mama G: Pagtyagaan mo na lang anak. At least may taga linis linis, hugas hugas at hiwa hiwa ka.

2nd day...

3rd day...

Mama G: O, kamusta na?
Me: Ang sakit sa ulo ma!
Mama G: Pagtyagaan mo na lang.

So ayun nga, ang sakit talaga sa ulo ng naging new house help namin! Why "naging new house help"? Kasi wala na siya!

Ang weird right? All around daw siya!!! Ano kayang all around yun? Hindi naman siya naglalaba at nagplaplantasa! Hindi naman siya nagluluto! Hindi naman siya nag-aalaga ng anak ko! Tapos may pasyal pa siyang kasama.

Me: Ok lang. May pambayad na siya?
Mama G: Meron daw, babayaran daw ng ate niya eh. Ano ba ginagawa ngayon?
Me: Natutulog.
Mama G: Tignan mo!

SEPANX

Ang separation anxiety, normal sa mga kids yan lalo na during first day of school. Pero in my case, never ko na-experience sa twins na magkaroon sila ng separation anxiety. I dunno... Maybe they are secured enough or maybe medyo maaga sila nagmature at naging independent.

And guess who had separation anxiety???

It's ME!!! Hahahaha!!!

Nakakatawa pero totoo. It manifested last weekend.

Here is the kwento:

Last Saturday, after Church, while eating our dinner...

Ian: Mommy, I want to sleepover at Mama G's house?
Mama G: You want to sleep with me, Ian?
Ian: Yes!
Me: Are you sure Ian?
Ian: Yes!
Me: Make sure that you really want to sleepover at Mama G's house. Remember, no calling us in the middle of the night just to pick you up. Are you really sure you want to sleepover?
Ian: Yes! I want to sleep with Mama G.
Me (to hubby with a sad face): Be, iniiwan na tayo ng anak natin...
Doc Padu: Laughed out loud
Me: Bakit mo ako tinatawanan? Anong nakakatawa dun?

Anuvayan! Parang ang bilis ng panahon. My son, Ian, is just 4 years old and he could already manage not to be with us anymore. Parang ang hirap tanggapin ano? Kayo rin ba may SEPANX experience?

Food Trip: Chichops - Your Fried Chicken and Smoothie Corner

Our next hole in the wall restaurant stop in Makati was at Chichops. It's just a small corner restaurant located at 245 Pablo Ocampo Ext. , Ocampo St., La Paz, Makati. Salamat sa Waze dahil kung wala ito, hindi namin matutungo yung place since we are not familiar with the place.

Here is the facade of the restaurant...

They do have a take out counter outside the restaurant...

Inside the restaurant...

Here are what we ordered:

House blend iced tea...

add P25.00 for chicken meals; add P20.00 for Chicken Biryani

In fairness, their house blend iced tea really taste good. Sayang because they don't offer refillable iced tea. Kami pa naman ang familia iced tea.

Double Chicken Meal (Buttered)...

P135.00

Single Chicken Meal (Buttered)...

P75.00

These fried chicken meals are for me and the kids. Pansin niyo medyo dark yung color ng chicken? Buttered kasi eh. Their chicken tastes good and juicy inside. Yun nga lang, medyo maliit ang chicken nila for the solo serving.

For this chicken, tama na ang one to two chicken for each person. Above two kasi, medyo nakakaumay na since fried na, buttered pa siya.

Solo Chicken Biryani...

P150.00

This is hubby's order. Mahilig kasi yun sa Indian food eh. Feeling Indian eh! Haha! This one tastes really good and the best part of this meal is that they really use Basmati rice. Sosyal di ba?

Roti Bread...

P15.00 each

Buko Smoothie...

P60.00

For smoothies, I prefer mango or banana. Pero nung nagdine-in kami, no choice ako with buko kasi wala nang ibang available kundi buko. Haha! Nakakadisappoint lang kasi I'm looking forward pa naman with their smoothie since they are a smoothie corner and ang gaganda ng reviews sa mga smoothie nila. But still, masarap pa rin naman yung buko smoothie nila. Very refreshing and hindi tinipid sa buko and milk.

For your reference, here is their menu...

Overall, we are satisfied naman with our dining experience there. Our total damage for the night is P590.00.  Puwede na dahil naka dalawang smoothies kami and may extra rice pa yun.

We'll definitely go back here and try their burgers and roti wraps. =)

Who's Excited?

In less than 3 weeks, magJajapan - Japan na kami! Woohoo! As always, mag-e-early birthday celebration kami ng birthday ni Mama G. Yearly kasi namin ginagawa yun eh. At very excited na ako!

Naku ha, muntik na naman ako maunsiyami! Najontis kasi ako eh, early this year pa kasi namin nabili yung plane tickets during the travel expo at SMX. Last 2010, magJajapan din dapat kami ni hubby. We have the plane tickets na, eh tapos nabuntis ako with twins.

Anyway, dahil excited na ako, I bought 2 new luggage.

Here are the luggage that I bought...

Pasensya na sa color ha. Orange yan sa totoong buhay. Yes, alam ko na shocking! Wala na kasing black eh, tapos yung isang color parang maroon ata yun, basta pang gurangis na kulay. Ayaw ni hubby! Hahaha!

Kami kasi ni hubby, very practical eh. More on function over form kami plus value for money. Like this one, it's not a "big", "expensive" and "international" brand like Rimowa, Delsey, Samsonite, etc. It's a Filipinio brand, Racini. It's already a hard case, expandable, 360 degrees and has TSA lock. We only bought it for P2,490.00 and P2,4429.78 respectively. Aside from that, it's very lightweight. Talo pa yung mga well-known and super expensive brands. It only weighs 2.5kg! San ka pa, di ba? Good deal right?

For its durability, mukhang matibay naman eh. Malalaman natin yan since we are going to commute lang in Japan. But still, if ever bumigay, magasgas gasgas or pagtripan sa airport, di pa rin masama sa loob dahil mura lang siya.

What do you think guys? Kayo ba, function over form din ba? Practical? Or you go with the big and expensive brands?

Breakfast Nook Stools

Yey! We finally have stools at our breakfast nook! Like this yung design...

photosource

Made in Italy daw kasi. Yikes di ba? Kaloka ang price! Di practical! Kaya nevermind na lang! Hahaha!

Then we found an affordable one naman at Urban Concepts kaso lang eto lang yung color niya nung nakita namin and iisa na lang ang stock...

If I'm not mistaken, yung price niya is P2,250.00. Gusto ko sana white, kaso lang daw oorderin pa nila from other country and matatagalan pa.

Then nung gumala gala kami sa Metro department store in Alabang, I found the same design again pero this time, black and silver lang. At least nakasave pa ako di ba?

Here are our new stools at our breakfast nook...

Ok naman ba? What do you think guys?

Also, what is nice about this kind of stool is it's double purpose din. Puwede rin siyang extra storage. In my case, pinaglagyan ko ng mga tissue rolls...

Ang galing ano? Very practical!

Stressful Friday

Homeschooling is not that easy, I tell you. Kaya if you decide that you'll homeschool your kids, dapat buo na talaga ang loob mo and ready ka.

In my case, what make homeschooling more challenging are:
  • I homechool twins (and they are both boys) - yes, dalawa dalawa sila that I teach everyday. Minsan sabay, minsan isa isa. It really depends on the subject. Pero take note, dalawa pa lang yan. Soon magiging apat na sila (Christoff and baby no. 4). Pero I know naman na kakayanin ko because I know of some homeschooling families, na more than five silang nag-aaral. Sooner and later naman, I know na magiging magaan na sa akin. Right now, tutok since they are in their preschool years. When they reach gradeschool, most likely, guidance na lang ang gagawin ko.
  • I still have a toddler (and soon an infant, again) - that is Christoff! He is really malikot and sometimes tends to be so clingy and demanding. Sabi ko nga eh, talo pa niya yung kambal. When Chris and Ian were 1 y/o, hindi sila ganyan kalikot. Let me say, x2 or x3 siya ng kambal!
  • I don't have a househelp - I do everything in the house (except laba't plantsa). Imagine niyo na lang ako na parang trumpo sa umaga because most of the household chores, I do it in the morning while the kids are still asleep.
  • I'm pregnant - supposedly, limited dapat ang galaw ko. Pero in my case right now, parang hindi ako buntis kung kumilos.
  • I have a lot of paperworks (accounting for hubby's practice) - need kong tutukan ito.
Actually, we are doing great in homeschooling. Sabi nga ng teacher/consultant during the twins' mid-year assessment, nakakatuwa kami dahil umpisa pa lang success story na. In fact, by next year (April 2015), isasama na ang kambal sa moving up. Meaning, grade 1 na sila at 5 years old pa lang.

Pero sa totoo lang, hindi everyday happy. May araw siyempre na medyo pre-occupied ako sa dami ng iniisip na gagawin ko, minsan not in the mood ako or di kaya yung kambal. Like last Friday, super stressed out ako sa kambal. Bakit kamo? I actually told them na we stop na and we'll just continue it the following day. Pero sila naman ang ayaw mag-stop. They want daw to study pa. Kaya ayun, 4 hours mahigit kami for just 1 subject! Imagine that!!! Haaayyysssstttt....

Literally, I became a MOMSTER that day. Sobrang nanginginig ako sa galit (I'm not perfect, tao lang ako at nauubos din ang pasensya). I know that they know what we were studying that time. They were just pretending na hindi nila alam. Yung tipong, tinatamad mag-isip. Lam niyo yun. With Chris, in less than 10 minutes, natapos kaagad namin. Then nung tinawag ko na si Ian, ang bilis din then may comment pa siya na "I'm fast in homeschooling!" after namin matapos kaagad. Eto pa ang matindi, nung gabi, nagyaya sila magdraw. So nadatnan sila ng daddy nila na nagdradraw. At etong si Ian, nag-draw ng Spiderman then i-spell daw niya ang Spiderman and he'll write it down sa drawing niya.

I said sorry already to my kids because I lost my patience and yelled at them. They said sorry din to me for not doing well in homeschooling.

At the end of the day, parang walang naganap na drama, back to our usual selves na kami.

Food Trip: Village Tavern

One Sunday, after going to Antipolo and Baras, Rizal, we went to BGC for dinner. She asked us where we want to eat and I suggested Village Tavern. Di pa kasi kami nakakain diyan and magaganda yung mga reviews na nababasa ko about the restaurant.

Village Tavern is located at the 2/F Bonifacio High Street Central, 7th Ave., Taguig, Metro Manila.

Here is the facade of the restaurant...

We were given free bread...

The bread is newly baked and it comes with olive oil with herbs. Sayang because they don't have balsamic vinegar. Hindi kasi ako sanay na olive oil lang ang dip eh that's why we asked na lang for some parmesan cheese.

Here are our orders:

New England Clam Chowder (Split into two)...

P225.00

This soup tasted really good yun nga lang medyo bitin. But it was really creamy ha.

Okra Fritters...

Sorry I forgot the price of this. Hindi ko rin masearch sa net eh. Mukhang limited offering lang kasi eto. Anyway, I was really disappointed with the okra fritters. Hindi kasi eto yung ineexpect ko eh. The first time I tasted okra (lady's fingers) fritters was in US and it was super sarap, crunchy and malinamnam. With this one, medyo makunat (mukhang magulang na yung okra) and it tasted bland.

Four Cheese Pizzetas...

P295.00

You'll never go wrong with an order of four cheese pizza. Enough said!

Snapper Hemingway (Regular)...

P550.00

This is the order of my dad. He liked it and he said that it tasted good.

Carbonara (Regular)...

P395.00

I ordered this for the twins. Favorite kasi nila ang carbonara eh. They liked this as well, naubos nila yung nilagay ko sa plate nila eh!

Chicken Kiev...

P375.00

This is my order and I super loved it! Ang sarap ng cream cheese filling niya sa loob and the chicken is juicy. Plus factor pa dito is that it was served with a delicious mashed potato (I love potatoes).

Monterey Chicken...

P495.00

I ordered this for hubby. Tinikman ko siyempre and ang yummy rin! The chicken was so flavorful and juicy. I like the taste of the rice pilaf too.

Pansin niyo si Mama G walang food? Eto kasi ang kuwento niyan...

Tinotopak kasi that time si Christoff. Hindi namin alam kung ano ang gusto. We tried to put him to sleep, no effect. We tried to carry him, no effect. We tried walking him, no effect. Kaya Mama G volunteered to carry him and make him aliw first outside the restaurant. Before going out, nagbilin siya na order ko raw siya ng clam chowder and four cheese pizza. All the while, akala ko yun na yung order niya. Then when the orders are already coming, she went back.

Mama G: Ano inorder mo sa akin anak?
Me: Clam chowder and four cheese pizza.
Mama G: Hindi, yung pagkain ko?
Me: Huh!?

Hehehe. Pero hindi naman, lahat naman natikman niya. Hehehe. =)

So that's it! We enjoyed our dinner at Village Tavern!

Homeschooling the Kulilits: Travel Activity

This is a super long overdue post...

Since I got amused when I read a blog post about learning through pretend travel, I did it also with the twins. =)

I made them a passport...

We traveled first to China. I made them wear their Chinese costumes. Excited naman sila...

What did we do?

Well, I showed them where China is in the globe. Then, showed them some things that are used in China such as chop sticks, bowls, teapots, abacus, etc. I let them watch also some video about China.

This activity is really fun!
