Last Wednesday, I attended the Brown Rice Campaign Press Lunch which was a partnership between Dakila, a group of inspiring involvement in social transformation, and Oxfam International. The Brown Rice Campaign seeks to revolutionize the eating habits of Filipinos and bring brown rice back as the regular staple food.
I attended this event because I'm already trying to live a healthy lifestyle since July of last year. In case you didn't know, I underwent laparascopic cholecystectomy (gallbladder and gallstones removal) last year which was due to my poor eating habits (eating fatty and high cholesterol food).
In the Brown Rice Campaign Press Lunch, advocates such as Chef Tatung, Bayang Barrios, Aia de Leon, Tuesday Vargas, Nityalila Saulo, Denise Celdran and Chef Kenny Talledo shared their own brown rice recipes and they even let us sample it. I tell you, I find their recipes interesting. It is yummy and at the same time healthy.
Aside from learning and tasting brown rice recipes, I also learned that brown rice is dubbed as the Good Food. Why? Because organic brown rice is beneficial to one's health, our environment, our local, small-scale farmers and the country. Isn't it that good to know?
Here are some of the pictures I took at the event:

And of course, the highlight of the event... my photo op with Tuesday Vargas. Hehehe!
I'm really glad to be part of this event! =)
