Christoff's 1st Birthday Party: Photo & Video Coverage

For the photo and video coverage, we got the services of SNAPS photo and video. For this, sobrang tsamba lang namin. I searched kasi a photo & video service that is based in Laguna na para malapit sa event venue. Yung photographer and videographer, mga bata pa pero magagaling sila. Yung hubby ko sobrang hanga sa kanila. Sabi nga niya, iba talaga kapag mga bata, very dynamic and maalam sa new technology.

Here's the link of the MTV-style video of Christoff's birthday - http://youtu.be/TR7Ad6XNt6c

We highly recommend SNAPS Photo & Video! =)

Food Trip: Rancho Lorenzo

From the fishball stands to casual restaurants, meron lahat yan, kaya there's no need for you to go out of the subdivision if you fee like eating out.

Last Sunday, since nakaday-off ang aming helper, we decided to eat out for dinner na lang before going home. I asked hubby if we could try Rancho Lorenzo along Gloria Diaz St. because I see a lot of people dining there every time I pass by at night. Ika nga nila, kapag marami laging tao kumakain, ibig sabihin masarap ang food. So there, he agreed. =)

Rancho Lorenzo is a non-aircon restaurant. Here is the facade...

The main dining area...

Other dining area...

Ang daming tables right? Usually, pag napapadaan ako diyan kapag nag-jojog ako, laging puno yan.

Anyway, you can get a hint on what's their specialty with their name "Rancho Lorenzo" - STEAKS. You can see around the dining area some of their house specialties.

I could see in hubby's face na laway na laway siya sa mga pictures ng steaks and dun sa mga steaks na sineserve sa mga katabi naming tables. Unfortunately, hindi kami umorder ng steak na beef kasi kahit papaano, I'm trying to control na what he eats plus the fact that I'm not eating read meat anymore.

Here are what we ordered:

Carbonara for the twins since this is their favorite pasta dish...

P180.00

Fried Tokwa with Kangkong...

P120.00

Tanigue Steak...

P195.00

We ordered 3 cups of rice lang (may lang talaga eh). Hehe. Pero kidding aside, medyo busog pa kasi kami from the merienda in my in-laws house (partida medyo busog pa yan ha).

The verdict:

Their carbonara, super malinamnam and malasa.

The fried tokwa with kangkong, ang sarap! It's just kangkong and tokwa pero napasarap nila.

For the Tanigue Steak, pwede na. "Pwede na" kasi parang may kulang pa rin sa panlasa ko. I find it bland kasi eh. Pero for hubby, masarap naman daw for him.

Overall, their food is really good and served hot. For the price, sakto lang - not cheap and not pricey naman. We'll definitely eat there again! =)

Christoff's 1st Birthday Party: Pre-Party at Seda Nuvali

The day before the birthday party of Christoff, we stayed at Seda Nuvali. It's a hotel located very near the party venue. We stayed in a hotel for 3 reasons: (1) we live in Las Pinas and we don't want to be in a hurry going to the party venue; (2) it's a nice place to shoot the preparation of Christoff; and (3) we went to PHA South Chapter Christmas party the night before the party which was held at Ayala Westgrove Heights Clubhouse.

Why Seda Nuvali?

There are a lot of hotels located in Sta. Rosa such as Paseo Premiere Hotel,  Microtel and El Cielito Hotel but we still chose Seda Nuvali because, like what I've said earlier, it's located in Nuvali which is very near Treveia and we already had a good experience in staying at other Seda Hotel, Seda Bonifacio Global City in particular.

Sakto rin that time because they have holiday promo. We only paid P4,500.00 nett for an overnight stay with breakfast for two with a free use of all their amenities. Not bad na di ba?

Here's a quick tour of Seda Nuvali:

The hotel's facade...

The lobby...

Reception area...

Mac computers with high-speed internet for guests' use...

Al Fresco area...

The outdoor pool...

At the back of the hotel...

Play room for kids...

*For the play room, I suggest that they add some toys and some selection of videos for the kids para mas enjoy ang mga kids to stay there.

Game room for those who love video games...

Our room:

We chose a king size bed...

The dresser/work area...

Mini bar...

The bathroom...

The  Misto Lobby Dining where we ate our breakfast...

Vast selection for breakfast...

Overall, we had a great stay at Seda Nuvali - good place, good food and good people. Sobrang sulit yung binayad namin. Hindi kami nagsisisi na dito kami nag-stay. =)

Guys, if you want a weekend getaway na medyo near lang, highly recommended ang Seda Nuvali!

That would be all for now, I'll get ready for Church na. Happy weekend!

Christoff's 1st Birthday Party: The Venue - Treveia Clubhouse, Nuvali

Good morning guys! Finally, I've been able to find a time to blog a little this morning. I'll tell you about the last party that I organized which is the 1st birthday party of Christoff, my bunso.

For Christoff's 1st birthday party, I'm a bit lax compared to the twins'. Sa twins kasi halos a year ang preparation and everything is personalized - from the invites to the giveaways. Hands on ako sa lahat kaya medyo stress galore ako nung time na yun. Ganun yata talaga kapag panganay eh, very excited. Hehe. Kaloka talaga! I'll tell you about it later.

For the venue, my initial plan is at Ysabel's Garden which is located inside our subdivision.

So my mom suggested na sa Treveia Clubhouse in Nuvali gawin ang party. Initially, I had hesitations kasi ang layo sobra. Sta. Rosa ba naman di ba? Pero on a second thought, ok na rin. First, sabay pasyal na ng mga guests sa Nuvali Park before or after the party and next, yung mga pupunta na guests, alam mong mahal ka talaga nila dahil willing sila magtravel kahit malayo. =)

Here are some pictures of the venue (without the party setup):

The entrance to the funtion hall...

Inside the function hall...

For the reservation of the place, very swift lang ang process. Very accommodating yung mga tao. You can even give your reservation a week before the function.

And for the function hall, wala akong reklamo. Maganda naman talaga, very spacious and they even have a pantry. Yun lang they don't provide a sound system kaya you should bring your own.

Eto na...

At the day of the event, we went to Treveia clubhouse to make sure that the setup is ok. Dun na nagsimula ang ka-stressan ko. Isa-isahin ko ha...

1. Guest List - At the guardhouse, they asked me why I didn't give them our guest list. Hello!?

2. Multimedia Projector - I requested for a projector since free naman ang pag-gamit. Or worse comes to worst, wala na lang projector.

4. Universal Adaptor - Yung multimedia projector nila yung 3 yung pins ng saksakan (yung may pang ground). Nung hinanap namin adaptor, wala raw. Ewan ko kung paano sila nakapag produce.

5. Security Deposit - In my mind, I still have P8,000.00 security deposit. After the event, I asked them for my refund. Sabi wala raw iniwan. Nagulat ako kasi they asked me to pay the reservation and security deposit in cash para raw I can refund it right away after the event.

So yan ang mga ka-stressan ko during the day of the event. Now naman, the post party stress na binigay sa akin ng Treveia which hanggang ngayon hindi pa na-reresobahan.

I called them December 23 to ask when will I be able to get the refund. I really flared up nung narinig ko yun. I said "What!!!!???" Akalain niyo, kulang pa raw ako ng P4,000.00.

Eto ang story niyan. Ang bayad kasi sa venue since we got Earth Hall A & B is P12,000.00 for 2 hours. I haggled na baka pwede naman gawing 3 hours yung P12k kasi masyado nang mahal if P16k for the venue lang. They are kind enough naman to allow me. I really thank them for that.  Then you have to give them P8,000.00 as security deposit which is "refundable" daw. As I've mentioned earlier, they asked me to give the reservation and security deposit in cash para raw makuha ko kaagad yung refund after the event. Siyempre, I paid them in cash thinking I could get the refund right away and less hassle na rin for me na hindi ko na kailangan bumalik ng Sta. Rosa.

Kaya daw kulang pa yung binayad namin dahil may bayad daw ang ingress and egress time. So may naka-state nga dun. Eto yun...

"2. Users should keep the Function Rooms tidy and reasonable clean after use. Maximum clean-up period is two (2) hours after the event. Clean up will be charged as succeeding hour's rate. The member, member's caterer or event organizer is responsible for the clean up after the event and must provide their own trash bags or receptacles and take these away with them when they leave the village."

Yes, aminado ako. Ako na ang TANGA na pumirma nito. Pero men, I tell you deceiving yung statement na ito. At first glance, you may have thought na the maximum number of egress time is 2 hours and succeeding hours shall be charged as succeeding hour's rate. Yun talaga ang pag-kakaintindi ko nung una. Dito lang talaga ako naka-encounter na walang provision na time sa ingress and egress. In fact, sino ba naman ang papansin sa ingress and egress, eh ang main concern mo is the function itself.

Buti na lang kamo at nagdala ako ng pambayad sa ibang supplier that day at hindi ko inasahan yung refund. Kung hindi, ma-stress pa ako sa pambayad. Haaayyysssttt!!!

Imagine that, P20,000.00 for the venue lang. It means to say na P12k ang bayad sa function and P12k ang bayad sa ingress and egress time!? Ano kaya yun? Nagtatapon ako ng pera? Magbabayad ako ng P12k para lang sa pagset up and paglinis na di naman ginamitan ng aircon. Ang weird lang talaga! Kung naiexplain lang maigi about that, eh di sana hindi na kami dun nagfunction.

Di pa tapos ang laban! We'll still going to talk to the management of the association about that.

Guys, tell me, mali ba ako ng iniisip?

Kulilits Moments: Samu't Sari

Hello guys! So sad talaga! =( Sobrang naipon na mga kwento ko! Baka maging history na. Huhuhu! Gustuhin ko man kasi, pero limited lang ang time ko.

Anyway, here muna ulit for now...

The Boogies...

On our way to Baguio...

Chris: I have boogies Papa G! Can you pick my nose?
Papa G: Ok. Can you check my nose apo. I have a lot of boogies too. Can you remove it?
Chris (checking Papa G's nose): You have long hair inside your nose Papa G!

Laugh trip talaga kami sa car. O di ba? Di marunong magsinungaling ang bata!

Hotdogs...

Chris: Mommy, what do we have for lunch?
Me: We have sopas.
Chris: Are there hotdogs in the sopas?
Me: Yes.
Chris: But mommy, Papa G does not like hotdogs. He said it is bad for your health. But I love hotdogs, Papa G should try it!

You know why Chris said that? We have a rule kasi in the house about food wherein they should try it first before saying no. Kaya ayun, Papa G should try it first daw. Ang kulit lang eh!

Goliath...

Actually, this scenario is about hubby not the kids. Ishare ko lang kasi nakakatawa lang eh.

Chris: I'll pretend to be a giant. I'm Goliath!
Doc Padu (to me): Ok yun ha. Si Goliath. Samson and Goliath.
Me (thinking that hubby is joking): Anong Samson and Goliath?
Doc Padu (with full confidence): Samson and Goliath!
Me: Ano ka ba? Si David no! David and Goliath tapos Samson and Delilah!

Talaga ang hubby ko... Medyo nagrurumble ang Bible characters niya. Parang kahapon, sabi niya si Joseph (son of Jacob), yun daw yung nasubo ng whale. Haaayyysssttt... Hahaha!

Burp...

While holding Christoff...

Me: Burpppp!!!
Chirstoff (pretending to burp): Uuu! Uuu! Uuu! sabay smile at me

Yes, si Christoff na 1 year old, nakikikulit na!

That would be all for now! Goodnight everybody! =)

Kulilits Moments: The Fedora Hat

This afternoon, Mama G came to our house with these fedora hats for the boys...

The boys were very delighted to see their pasalubong from Mama G and immediately wore them. Then after a few minutes, Chris laid down the floor and pretended to be dead with his fedora hat beside him.

Chris (on the floor): Look Mama G!
Mama G (wondering): Why are you dead?
Chris: I'm pretending to be the man in "Bayang Magiliw"!

Natawa kami ni Mama G since the man that he's referring to is Jose Rizal. Imagine that, very observant pala ang Chris. I'm teaching the twins kasi to sing the "Lupang Hinirang" (Philippine National Anthem) and I'm playing the song via Youtube. And here is the screen capture of the part wherein Jose Rizal fell down the ground which Chris was imitating...

Amazing right?

But wait, there's more!

Me (deadma kuno sa PANDORA hat): Ano yun Ma?
Me: Kasi...

As in hindi ako makahinga at maluha luha pa ako sa katatawa.

Papa G's Surprise 60th Birthday Party

HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS!!!

Papa G, my dad, celebrated his 60th birthday last December 2014. It was actually a surprise party since he doesn't have a plan to celebrate his birthday. Kami ni Mama G, my mom, ang mastermind. Hehe!

The story behind the surprise party:

As early as 2013, I've been asking my dad if he's going to celebrate his 60th birthday. Kesyo ayaw daw niya problemahin yun and dapat kami ang mag-aasikaso nun. Blah...Blah...Blah... Then, around 6 months before his birthday, I asked him again. Ayaw niya raw magparty. Bakit ba raw need pa icelebrate. I told him... "Hmmm... 60 ka na and celebration of your double citizenry." Well, ang sagot niya sa akin. Hahaha!

Until, one month before na lang... I talked to my mom and asked her if we are not going to have a party for my dad. I even asked her if isabay na lang namin sa birthday ni Christoff. So she asked me to scout for a hotel venue.

Search search ako sa internet until I found 12 Monkeys Music Hall & Pub at Century City Mall. We even went to the place and found it nice na since complete na with the sound system and everything. Settled na kami actually sa place but my mom saw a venue that was featured at Kris TV which was Cities Events Place in Quezon City. My mom asked me inquire about the place. Since pasok naman sa budget and available pa yung date, I pencil booked it na and scheduled an ocular visit.

There we went to ocular visit the place. We fell in love with it. Ang ganda naman talaga kasi eh. May different areas na puwede mo irent, depende sa party mo. We chose the main hall since marami kaming guests. Right then and there we reserved it na.

The Theme:

Maybe you are asking how we came up with the theme. Well, since the event was supposed to be held at 12 Monkeys Music Hall & Pub, I told my mom na Beatles na lang ang theme namin tutal naman favorite ni daddy ang Beatles. She agreed immediately and sinabi na lang niya na para hindi mahirap, gawin na lang mala 60's or 70's ang party.

So dun na nag-umpisa yun. Kaya naman itong si mommy, larga kaagad sa Divi to look for a guitar souvenir, wigs and tela for my dad's costume.

You know what?

The Party:

My dad is totally clueless about the party. Ang alam niya, it was a reunion party ng batch nila sa Victory Christian Fellowship.

So December 14 came... I arrived at the venue at around 4:00pm. Ngarag na ngarag ako since ako ang punong abala that time dahil I need to see to it na ayos ang setup and on cue dapat ang music and guests pagdating ni daddy.

At around past 6:00pm, my mom called hubby and told him na malapit na daw sila so I made everybody ready na.

Here is the link of the video when my dad entered the main hall (courtesy of Ralph Garcia). I just don't know if you can access it...

https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1022591924433491

My dad's reaction was PRICELESS!

But... Before I continue my kuwento, I'll show you first what I wore. Hehe! Here I am with my bestfriend and her sisters...

So... continue ulit...

I'll show you some photos from the party. By the way, these photos were taken by my cousin Ralph Garcia. =)

Here are my parents wearing their panalong costumes...

Here's my hubby...

He was the emcee. No choice siya kasi imposed eh. Haha! About his costume, pagbigyan niyo na siya. Haha!

My Tito and Cousin singing with my dad...

My mom had a pauso. Meron siyang Six Pens sa program wherein six important men (friend, brother-in-law, brother, son-in-law, grandson and son) in my dad's life will deliver a short message for him and give him a pen. Here they are:

His bestfriend, Ninong Harry...

One of his brothers-in-law, Tito Ninong Weng...

One of his brothers, Tito Jojie...

Nag-iisang son-in-law, my hubby...

First grandsons, the Kulilits twins...

One of his sons, my brother Paolo...

Blowing of candle...

Here's my dad's birthday cake...

It's sponsored by my brother. As in super! Pero it was yummy ha. Moist yung chocolate cake and it's not that sweet.

After the blowing of the candle, siningit ko sa program ang speech ni mudra. As always, the best lagi ang impromptu speech ni mommy...

After the program, siyempre hindi mawawala ang sayawan...

At ang picture taking...

It was a very successful surprise party indeed! Successful, because not only everybody enjoyed it but also it was the only surprise party for my dad na hindi nabuking!
